the brackets show that print is a function
it means you can send any text to that function and it will show it on the screen
the single quotes tell the compiler where the text starts and stops
the compiler always expects to see an even number of single quotes
give it an odd number of single quotes and it has a headache
it is a problem if you want to put a single quote
within your text
that is just one simple function
btw - the program keeps in its mind where the current position on the screen is. it displays the text from there.
