.......but I am going to lunch with the commander of Apollo 8 today. Anyone have any non crazy good questions I might ask him? :)
 
Ask him what it was like on the moon, how cold is it in space, about any possible plans for colonized living on Mars, the effects of zero-g on the brain, and where do they sleep inside the shuttle.

Have fun.
 
Apollo 8 didnt land on the moon but was the first mission to circumnavigate it. The commander read from genesis as the came around the backside and the earth came into view. You can listen to it on the web. Pretty neat.
 
I chickened out and just asked him about his family. I didn't wanna be every of other person who asks him about nasa.

You should have asked him what movie studio made all those great moon shots!
 
That's quite a lunch meeting! Very cool, Sirk. I tried to think of something you could ask, but then work beckoned and robbed me of my creative thought process.

What was he like? What did you two discuss apart from family (if anything)? What did each of you have for lunch? Did either of you spit when you talked or snort when laughing?

lol! He is a very humble guy. I asked him what he did for fun. I'm actually working in his hanger so his obvious answer was flying and working on planes. I told him about my ancestors and we talked about his time living in New Mexico. He actually hunted where I grew up in northeastern Mt so we know the some of the same country. We ate at Perkins and he insisted on paying. He had a turkey sandwich with a salad and a diet coke. I had a Philly cheesesteak with a salad and water. We spoke briefly of his wife who is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. He seems to be a man of faith but I didn't force the issue. He was very interested when I told that I play guitar on the worship team at my church.

you should have asked him if he still believed Christoper Columbus discovered the moon after all the recent Scandinavian evidence in the last few years.

Was it a real restaurant, or was it a set?
Did he arrive by car, or did he bounce into the place with the help of wires?
Did a bunch of Conspiracy Theories pop up all over the net, after you guys had dessert?
