Actually I thought the guy had gone and gotten married. "No longer single" seems to imply more than just finding a girlfriend...

In my book, you are still single. I believe a better term for your status is "attached". Only when you are married, you would change your status to NOT SINGLE. JMO, but I bet others would agree!! If they see and read my post, that is.

The term "single" is relative I think...

On CC, the options are "single" or "married".

But in real life, if someone wanted to ask someone else out, the question "are you single" means "are you in a committed relationship".

It depends on Facebook. All relationship statuses are dependent on Facebook these days.

"So is this it? Are we a couple now?"
"I don't know... I like this, I just... don't know."
"Well... will you be my 'it's complicated' on Facebook?"

"Yeah I would have broken up with her, but my internet connection was down."
