In the Gospel, LORD JESUS CHRIST did 'put away' the hypocritical Pharisees, hoping in correction witnessed by others and his disciples, they would all come into repentance. But what did they do to the LORD and HIS Apostles in guilt of conviction? Even murder, in order to get what they 'want' and 'carry on'.

Hey tourist. I don't know you (except for seeing you around here), but I heard that if you give up smokes and endure the pain for two weeks that you can kick the habit. It'll be a rough two weeks, but you can do it!

One more thing.

There was some stressful events in my life (and some that I am still going through) and I turned to beer to help me cope. I didn't get sloppy drunk, but I felt the effects...maybe 2-3 times a week I would drink. Far too much.

I tried several times to just tell myself that "I AM GOING TO STOP THIS."

I failed each-and-every-time.

It wasn't until I threw up my hands and I gave the burden of addiction to God. I prayed out loud for Him to give me HIS STRENGTH, because before I leaned on myself thinking I can will myself to stop, and I couldn't.

But this time I asked God to give me HIS POWER to resist the temptation and almost immediately the urge left me. The next day...nothing. Didn't even think about stopping at the store for some beer. The Power of God to help overcome sin is amazing. We are frail and weak, He is infinitely more able to help us overcome any obstacle we face.

There's something to catch here: When I depended on my will, my power and my strength to defeat sin I failed. When I turned it over to God and asked for HIS Power and Strength I was cured.

You may want to pray this prayer tonight. Even if you don't, I will for you =)

You can do it brother. People close to you need you around here on earth, stay here as long as you can and carry out the will God has placed before you from all eternity.

Any new ideas on sharing the gospel in your area? Or is life just keeping you going? You are a teacher right? I am trying to get things going in my area and have an open mind to what God is going to want me and tourist to do to continue sharing the gospel.

I don't consider it boasting to remind Christians of the Power of Christ and the words of His Apostle Paul. I consider it a reminder that their is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Shouldn't we remind each other of this?

HE encourages them to be 'joy and excited' in these times of tribulations and persecutions. For these ignorant people 'did the same things to the Prophets who lived long ago'.

if your not familiar, though i have hardly ever known anyone who is not - origami is an art form of taking a plain, flat, usually (always, to purists) square piece of ordinary paper and by means of clever folding and manipulation, transforming it into a recognizable likeness of another thing or into a usable implement like a cup or a box.
when we were without knowledge of God, we are like this plain, unfolded bit of paper, formless and useless in a sense, and useful for little else (without our form being first changed) but for transmitting a message, if we were to be written upon -- this, the adversary would do with us, putting on us wicked sayings and vain messages.
but the Lord takes us, reveals Himself to us through us and by us - we submit to Him and His grace, and allow Him to form us into an instrument for His purpose, a reflection of His own light, that the world, seeing the transformation of us, can be shown the glory and power of what He is able to do, and glorify Him.
so origami can in this way be used as a witnessing tool - and it is also a universal language, needing no speech to communicate at all, and the simplest of materials to perform. if you commit some designs to your heart, you have then a thing you can teach to a poor child of any people, whether you can speak their language or not, and that child can then occupy himself with wonder for all their lives, turning bits of what would be trash into art. the scrap of paper that was rejected can become an eagle, a porpoise, a turtle. . . anything.

Good morning everyone im back before I go into the discussion i have planned i wanted to say some things. I know that this cafe to a lot of ppl belongs in the misc forum but there is a reason i put it in the bible discussion forum. This place is without a doubt a warzone enemies are made here but few friends are there is disunity not unity there mocking and anger not love.
So i knew that this place was in need of something to bring everyone together to relax and enjoy each other, A doctor goes to the sick not healthy.
I also want to start a tradition in the cafe- to post helpful and encouraging scripture. Its very difficult for me to type but i will do my best to post scripture.

Now to the discussion and this is something i struggle with as well- self worth. because of all our sins all our weaknesses and our low value of ourselves it can be very hard to see ourselves as children of god as royalty as clean because of the blood of jesus but what does the bible say who we are? i need help posting the scriptures but there are so many saying how we are adored royalty children of God kings and queens ect care to help?

I agree with you, posthuman. Besides, not every thread posted in the bible forum needs to be bible-related. I find this thread a refreshing change from the usual chaos in the bible forum.
