you do admit they are inspired & God-breathed scripture, right?

see, i read something like this:

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
(Isaiah 5:20)

and i've got no small amount of trepidation to say that what's written in the psalms is become a lie for us.
it's not a "law" for us. it's freedom to do what is good.

Those that plan on being saved better being obeying what God prescribed and not obeying their personal feelings.

Because God commanded Christians to sing and anything other than doing as God prescribed is disobedience, sin.


Again, if I do not have to do what God said about singing, then why would I have to do ANYTHING God has said???
 
This contradiction is so strange....to base salvation on works but then to argue against the same works. What tangled up mess did you make in your brain seabass?
 
This is very strange. I disagree with SeaBass on the main issue, but I disagree with everyone else who is insulting him. Tangled up mess in the brain?

Also I feel I'm invisible in this thread. I asked a question and nobody answered it...

Saaaaaay... what about soundtracks? See, I make soundtracks at home in my computer. I can "play" virtual instruments through my computer and MIDI keyboard. Drums, bass line, background chords and a lead and you have a soundtrack. I use them at church to sing songs, so we won't have to have the (overworked) piano player learn new songs every time we want to sing one.

So whataya say? Would soundtracks be acceptable? It's not exactly a live instrument playing.

The problem with that is that almost all of the everyday things that we do are not mentioned in the bible. Most things that we do each day are not specifically prescribed by God but we rely and act on the knowledge and wisdom that has been acquired.

One can also fall by stumbling over a brother. Or by trying to push a brother down. Or by insulting a brother he disagrees with.

There's a lot of hate in this thread. Diametrically opposite to everything I know about God.

where do they say instrumental music is abominable in His sight?
but i can show you where they say it is good to make music to Him :)

I have no problem with sound tracks but then I have no problem with instruments in church. I'm very conservative in the music area and do not go for the modern contemporary music especially the rock music but using recorded music is no different than using live music for the most part.

Many here have dealt with the poster on many of his clearly unbiblical positions and it is always the same. He will not receive any instruction and he will not trust God to save him by grace. He teaches salvation through water baptism and denies the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believer.

He will continue this thread until all the good posters tire of his stubbornness and leave. Then he will convince himself that he was right and that he won.

He can only create strife and animosity. There is never any edification in his threads or his posts. Nobody hates him they just get frustrated at his will to be wrong on biblical subjects.

---Col 2:14, Eph 2:15; Heb 10:9 all show Christ took ALL the OT out of the way not just part of but all of it, did not eave Psalms but took ALL of it. YOu reject this for you only want to follow what pleases dcontroversial.


---None of the OT was ever given to Christians to keep, but only given to the Jews, Deut 5:2,3. A Christian keeping OT laws is like Americans keeping Chinese laws. Cannot keep laws not given to you.


---Paul point in Romans 4 to Jews that had become Christians yet still clang to the OT law is that the OT law does NOT justify and only brings the wrath of God. So it makes no sense for one to go back to the OT to find what cannot be found.

I can relate to that! I'm still trying to talk my mom into paying for my counseler seeins how my dad is dead so she's the only one I can blame now. Haha.
