Think about this part for a second;

John (Yahchanan) 15:5,13,14 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit... Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

He said; "Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers"

Now I do take that to mean that this is the greatest love a human can show another human, but was He (Yahshua/Jesus) talking about Himself? About what He knew was coming?

"Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit..."

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit... Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

What do you think?

"lay down his life on behalf of his brothers" (Is Yahshua/Jesus saying He is about to lay down His life for "his brothers"?).

"You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

Isayah 53, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."

Mattithyah 27:45-54, "Yahshua יהושע cried out with a loud voice, saying: Yli! Yli! lamah ozabatniy?! which means: My Strength! My Strength! Why have You forsaken Me?! ...Yahshua, when He had cried out again with a loud voice, yielded up His Spirit. And behold, the veil of the Most Holy Place was torn in two from top to bottom;... Truly this was the Son of Yahweh יהוה !"

Psalm 22, "My Strength! My Strength! Why have You forsaken Me? O why are You so far from helping Me, and from the words of My groaning? ... Many bulls have surrounded Me; bulls of Bashan have compassed and beset Me; They gape on Me with their mouths, as ravening and roaring lions. I am poured out like water, and all My strength has left Me. My heart is like wax; it has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a pottery sherd, and My tongue cleaves to My jaws. You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs and the assembly of the wicked have compassed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones..."

John (Yahchanan) 15:5-16, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit... Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

it all starts here:

I agree...The most amazing love...

it all starts here:

1 John 4:9-11
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that
He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiationfor our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers"

1 John 4:10-11"He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if Yah so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

Love is wanting all to come to know Jesus and to follow Him. Having compassion for those that do not know Him yet as their Savior. Knowing not thinking that Jesus is real, and He is alive and well knocking on hearts waiting to be let in. One definition of Love for me is Hope.

Everyone gives and receives love differently, but I do know that God gives us UNCONDITIONAL love, which is perfect and can not be broken. We should learn by Him.

selflessness.... always putting God first or others before ourselves

selfless relationship....... listening to God directions and following His prompts - putting needs of others before ours

10 Commandments..(OT)..... First 4 give us direction as to how to show love to God..... last 6 directions how to love our neighbor.....Jesus summed them up in (NT) in 2 commandments.....Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself.

1 Corinthians Chapter 13...... Instructions about how to love.

Walking with God daily talking to Him.... (prayer) and leaning on His everlasting arms submitting our wills to His will. Reading the Bible so God can communicate with us.... We love Him because He first loved us..... and then show/share that love by spreading the gospel so that others can get to know and love God too and learn what love really is.

Wanting others to have the same joy in Him we do, wanting them to be "set free" no longer being a slave to the ways of the world, but a child of the Most High, amazing! TY for this post.

John 8:31-38, "So Yahshua/Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” Yahshua/Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

I agree, we being the Potter's clay should be molded by the Potter. TY for this post!

Matt 6:10, "Your kingdom come Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven."

Matt 26:42, "He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, "My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done."

Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to (the pattern of) this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may (be able) to prove what is the righteous, and acceptable, and perfect will of Yahweh."

I agree, who better to explain to us, what His love is, than Him?

1 Peter 5:6, "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of Yah, that He may exalt you at the proper time."

Proverbs 3:1-7, "My son, do not forget my Instructions, but take my instructions to heart; For length of days, and long life, and peace, they will add to you. Do not let mercy and truth forsake you; tie them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your mind; Then you will find honor, high esteem, and approval in the eyes of Yahweh and man. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Yahweh, and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; reverence Yahweh, by turning entirely away from evil."

Matt 11:27-30, "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. And no one fully knows the Son except the Father, neither does anyone fully know the Father, except the Son and those whom Yahweh wills the Son to reveal. Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

God’s Love Scriptures
There should be no talk of love in the Bible without covering God’s love for each of us. This is the love that has led to a path for eternal life. Praise God!
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Ephesians 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
1 Peter 1:22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
What Did Jesus Say About Love
Matthew 5:43-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Matthew 6:24-25 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Mark 12:28-30 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

John 14:21-24 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.
John 15:9-17 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
Bible Verses About Love for Marriage or Weddings
Song of Solomon 8:6-7 Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised.
Ephesians 4:2-3 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Philippians 2:2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
Love Scripture Quotes from Proverbs or Psalms
Psalm 23:5-6 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 31:16 Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love!
Psalm 63:3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.
Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

John 3:16

Romans 5:8

~snip~

He loves us so much.
Does he not leave the ninety-nine to go search the mountains for the one that has gone astray?

Mattithyah 14:10-14, "Beware that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I say to you: In heaven their malakim always see the face of My Father Who is in heaven. The Son of Man has come to save that which was lost; So what do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, but one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine to go search the mountains for the one that has gone astray? And if it should be that he finds it, truly I say to you that he rejoices more over that one, than over the ninety-nine which never strayed. In the same way, it is not the will of your Father Who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish."

Using "The Great 2 Commandments" as a starting point I ask, what is love? No our hearts version of love, or out minds version of love. What is love according to the Most High and His sent One, Yahshua/Jesus? We are told to love YWHH and love our neighbor, I think it would be beneficial to dwell on this?

John 7:16-17 "Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching--whether it comes from Yahweh, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

John 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

John 5:24, "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."

Using "The Great 2 Commandments" as a starting point I ask, what is love?

Mattithyah 22:37-40,

"Yahshua said to him:

You must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Love is to truly care for someone or thing from your heart, to guard it with your life.

Love...

Matt 5:43-48, "You have heard that it has been said: You will love your brother--but hate your enemies; But I say to you; Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do well to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, That you might be sons; children, of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise over the wicked and the righteous, and sends rain upon the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the publicans do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the publicans do the same? Therefore, become perfect, just as your Father Who is in heaven is perfect."

Most people think Yahshua is rebuking "OT" teaching, not at all,"You have heard" nowhere in Yahweh's words is this hate taught. This hate comes from the Talmud of the pharisees, aka "the oral law" Thus "You have heard". If it was written Yahshua would have said, "It is written" Yahweh's words says:

Leviticus 19:34, "The stranger living with you must be treated as one of your native-born, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh."

Matt 4:4, "But He answered, and said; It is written*: Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh."

Deuteronomy 8:3, "So He humbled you, and allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you did not know of nor did your fathers know of it; so He might make you know that *man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh, does man live."

"You have heard" or "It is written"

That is why Yahshua/Jesus said;

Matt 15:7-9, "Hypocrites! Well did Isayah prophesy of you, saying: These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

Isayah 29:13-14, "Therefore Yahweh said: Because these people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their reverence to Me is taught by the precept of men; Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people; a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men; discerning, will be hid."

Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to (the pattern of) this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may(be able) to prove what is the righteous, and acceptable, and perfect will of Yahweh."

Love of God is devotion to him that values him above all persons and things.

Love of neighbor is commitment to his welfare as I am committed to my own.

Yes......................sometimes we are up to our necks in the "words" of false teachers..........which is why I turn to the Written Word to know the Truth of what Jesus taught............. :)
