When I read the SDA belief statement, it is clear that they (atleast outwardly) try to seperate themselves as much as possible from EW. She is mentioned nowhere. You think a prophet who started the only "remnant" church, would be central to the belief statement. But all the beliefs point directly to various scriptures for support. So why then is she so pushed within the SDA church?
moving away from her testimony. Not wanting to have to defend the scriptures and her writings as well. Not that this is right or wrong, it is just happening. Some though are also abandoning biblical and prophetic truths that she maintained, this is of course not good. they are beginning to go the way of the rest of Protestantism which has rejected the prophetic testimony of their founding fathers regarding the Church of Rome, and her central role in last day events. I attended a church that maintained a complete de-emphasis upon biblical prophecy for full three years. This from a church founded upon biblical prophecy, with the commission to give the three angels messages of Revelation 14 to this world.
