Our illustrious leader has unveiled his budget for this year....it is only 4 trillion dollars..........good luck with that....!
That is the first time I have ever heard him use the word budget.
Five times since 2011, the Republican controlled House has not only voted on, but passed a budget. Of course, it wasn't Obama's. He hasn't ever presented until now. And the budgets the House passed died in the black hole of Harry Reid's desk. How long has it been since congress voted on a budget? Spending without accountability.
It's own citizens. Debt is accumulated through investment in U.S. Treasury notes and bonds. 53% of the as-yet-immature such investments in the U.S. are held by American citizens and corporations. China, famously known among alarmists as "our biggest creditor," holds nine percent. Foreign entities, both governments and nations, hold a total (including China) of 29% of such instruments, none of them other than China having as much as two percent. Believe it or not, the Federal Reserve, the U.S. central bank, owns the rest. They buy up such bonds and notes to stimulate the economy by putting money in circulation. In terms of the US government debt; to whom does the US government owe most this debt?

Aye, this is my understanding as well.
I was pondering upon this the other day while I was taking a shower. As it is, we the kings are the creditor to the government, and therefore the US government is our debtor.
Would it therefore be feasible, at least theoretically assuming that the kings could come to agreement, that the kings could forgive a certain amount of our servants' debts?
Might as well, they (our servants) have no intention of paying it back...............and IF they did, they would just turn around and TAX what was paid back........![]()

The kings have tasked the servants to tax and to spend to our service. Therefore it is no fault for them to tax nor to spend, for that is even the charge with which the servant has been charged. Assuming that taxing or spending is to our service of course.
Some assumptions:
The king as creditor has the power to forgive any amount of the debt the servants do owe us. The GDP remains around the same levels or higher. Spending and Taxing remains at the same level or withn the range projected.
A question:
Would forgiveness of all or a portion of the debt the government owes to its kings be beneficial to both king and servant?
First, I really wish you'd stop using the terminology for us as "kings." In a democratic republic, there are no kings, not even the voters, though I understand your thinking. It is more appropriate for us to be referred to as "the public," no one in such a government being greater than any other -- though most in Washington on both sides of the aisle and those who try to straddle it have forgotten that.Would it therefore be feasible, at least theoretically assuming that the kings could come to agreement, that the kings could forgive a certain amount of our servants' debts?
Statement 1) Not exactly that way...........Constitution has specific rules concerning Tax Legislation. Most of the US Tax Code today is not Constitutional. It is only Law because partisan Politicians and supporting Courts have held it to be. The MAIN purpose of the Federal Government is to protect it's citizens.
Statement 2) Citizens can not forgive the National Debt. No pathway to do so exists that I can find.
Statement 3) No. If there were a pathway for the citizens to vote in a General Election to "forgive" all or a portion of the National Debt, the Politicians would immediately take those funds forgiven and go on a spending spree and our National Debt would once again balloon in size.
My thoughts.................
Yeah he used the term, but at the end of the day...how deep can we as a nation go in debt before we are declared bankrupt and defunct.......
Our debt, by the end of his term, (if we make it that far) will be like 25 trillion dollars.........which is almost $80,000 debt for every American alive!

Second, do you know anyone who wants to give up money to the U.S. government? I sure don't. Some of our older citizens have invested heavily in treasury notes and bonds. Their savings and retirement are tied up in them. Better our government quits expanding, retracts drastically instead to return to basics -- Defense, State, Treasury, and Commerce -- and budget $1 trillion per year to actually retire the debt.
Woodrow Wilson borrowed, through the sale of war bonds and treasury notes, $30 billion to prosecute the war against Germany in World War I. We still haven't paid anything on the principle of that debt! The U.S. government needs to pay down the debt, develop a budge surplus, stop trying to be a nanny state, and let things like education, social services, healthcare, etc. be handled at the state level, and by charities, most importantly, the church.
Obama has created record levels of job growth, reduced unemployment, pushed for the legalization of same sex marriage, pulled troops out of war, boosted the economy faster than at any other point in the last decade, supported equal pay for women, supported women's reproductive rights, pushed for increased minimum wage, made a historic climate deal with China to reduce emissions, given all Americans the right to access to healthcare not withstanding their economic position, has won the Nobel Peace Prize, has been the Most Admired Man in America the 7th Straight Year, and has pulled the majority of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.
In contrast, Bush created zero job growth his entire first term crashed the economy and took half the world's with him, reduced taxes while starting two wars he couldn't pay for, spent outrageous amounts on military defense, is the only living ex-President who has not expressed support for same sex marriage (his father helped legalize one), outrightly opposed same sex marriage, caused half the world to despise America and is responsible indirectly for the instigation of the deaths of more than 1 million Muslim innocents across the globe.
Obama has done a far better job than Bush, and it's no surprise that he has boosted the economy, because as has been proven by two Harvard economists, the economy always grows more under Democratic leadership than under Republican.
Didn't know you had a CCF account, Mr. Ernest. Bit early in the day to be shirking your duties to the media, ain't it?Obama has ... [blah blah blah blah blah] ... ... under Republican.
Church education? I've lived in Ireland most of my life. You know what church education is? Pedophilia, forced labour, psychological oppression and physical abuse, for profit. The churh are the last people who should be responsible for childrens' educations in what is currently, one of the most highly educated nations on Earth.
I'd give it twenty years before America goes, socially, ideologically and educationally, back a hundred.
