Lemme make sure I understand what you're saying. You're saying that because your god is so forgiving, it's OK to deliberately ignore his laws and commandments. I'm not sure what you're saying, exactly.

define what the law is. would the full law come with 10 commands or the rest of the degrees added from try to understand what the 10 commands were saying. so in short, the nuts and bolts of the law are the 10 commandment.
also when adding the temple of stone the requirement of the law were used to follow the law ie animal for forgivness, etc
when jesus saved them under the nuts and bolts of law. how can you use the law as a guide, if jesus was the only person to follow it fully.

The Golden Rule
12 "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.Matthew 7

Galatians 3: By Faith, or by Works of the Law?
1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?4 Did you suffer so many things in vain---if indeed it was in vain?5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith---6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"?

just like abraham , jews and gentiles who believe in jesus christ

16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.1

18 Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
for the remnant of his inheritance?

Ha ha.... By their fruit you shall know them!!!

The letter is unto death. But the Spirit is life.

Romans 7:5-6
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

so very clear.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

and when we fail,

'Give us each day our daily bread. 'And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"

Anyone who says the law is done away with, abolished, irrelevant, is calling God a liar.

Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. Isa 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

We will observe the Sabbath in Heaven, and those Sabbath Keepers who do so, will look upon the bodies of those who did not keep the law, and transgressed against Yah.

The Ten Commandments are the only commands in the Bible given directly out of the word of Yah, written by the finger of Yah, and here we sit, as supposed believers, arguing with him. How can you say you love and believe him when you say in this post that you don't believe him? How can you say the Bible contradicts itself, and still believe that you can live your life by it? If you are a person who thinks the law is done away with, you are not following Yahovah/Yahweh, the creator of the Universe, you are chasing after other ba'al's (also the Hebrew word for husband, btw) to satisfy your needs. Messiah is our husband, and all he does is pleasing to his father, and he would not displease his father by sinning. Why are you chasing after other husband's when this one loves you so much he DIED for you?

The time remaining is very, very short. The end is upon us, people. We're watching it happen before our eyes. This is the time to humble yourselves, confess sin and pridefulness, and accept with humility that we have been lead astray, and now the shepherd is trying to lead you back to the fold before the wolves descend. You can keep trying to be right, or you can try to do right. The choice is yours. Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

My god is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He did not provide an everlasting covenant that only lasted until 1 AD. That's not everlasting. He does not lie, he doesn't randomly change his mind, and he never intended for us to worship on Baal worship day.

Galatians 2:14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

The Jubilee (Hebrew yovel יובל) year is the year at the end of seven cycles of shmita (Sabbatical years), and according to Biblical regulations had a special impact on the ownership and management of land in the Land of Israel; there is some debate whether it was the 49th year (the last year of seven sabbatical cycles, referred to as the Sabbath's Sabbath), or whether it was the following (50th) year. Jubilee deals largely with land, property, and property rights. According to Leviticus, slaves and prisoners would be freed, debts would be forgiven and the mercies of God would be particularly manifest. Leviticus 25:8-13 states:
"And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession."
The biblical rules concerning Sabbatical years (shmita) are still observed by many religious Jews in the State of Israel, but the regulations for the Jubilee year have not been observed for many centuries. According to the Torah observance of Jubilee only applies when the Jewish people live in the land of Israel according to their tribes. Thus, with the exile of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Menashe (about 600 BCE) Jubilee has not been applicable.

So you are not a law-breaker, you are better than the ones that were born into this practice, but unable to keep them. If anyone says that they aren't a sinner, has called Jesus a Liar. It says that not even one part of the law, not even under any condition, should not be broken, or else they will be cut from their people, death. So you better beg for mercy while you are here, or else you'll be begging for a droplet of cool water from your enemy's finger. The pharisees were going around on the Sabbath, policing everyone to see if they are keeping the law, but the law requires that no kind of work shouldn't be done, and they are suppose to only try to meditate on God's words only, but not seeking for violators. And so, should we tear out all the pages about Paul confronting Peter about trying to bring back the laws to make others to follow them and he know that he was unable to follow them? If we follow the laws, that means Jesus had died for nothing. The Sabbath was to build up our trust in God, that we doesn't have to worry about security. The weekly Sabbath was baby steps for preparing us for a day that we doesn't have to worry about nothing at all. The Sabbath has increased in this test, that we had to not even work for seven years without any food spoiling, but I doesn't believe that you or anyone else has that great of a faith. And so, are you able to not worry about the bank that is handling your money, that they aren't stealing from your security, the very thing that you depends on for living?

I notice that very few people when putting down the law never or next to never show their point from the Old Testament.

I wish people who clearly no nothing of the law would stop talking about it and twisting the new Testament writings because of their clear lack of understanding concerning what the law is and its purpose and its relevance.

Yes I know you can quote Paul's writings so can we. Yes you can quote Jesus so can we. The problem is not what they say but in your understanding of what they say. and that problem is because you have never learned form the schoolmaster, you skipped the tutor. You tried to attend the advanced classes without first gaining a proper foundation.

This also shows in that this group seldom next to never address any texts that go against their view they just simply post another scripture that they think fits their view. ever ignoring some texts and accepting the ones they like.

I am not saying this to be mean I encourage you to go back and learn the Old Testament message, its about Jesus.

Please, can you twist this verse for me?

Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink (Pork), or with regard to a religious festival (Passover and etc..), a New Moon celebration (Rosh Chodesh) or a Sabbath day ( I guess we already know what that is).

I believe that a person need to know the old before they can start with the new.

nice verse shall we add some context to it?

Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

notice the words, shadow of "things to come"

Now aside from the Fact that there are different Sabbaths in the law. lets address the one you are inferring and then ask a simple question:

here is the Sabbath of the commandment:

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

and why was it given:

Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Now that simple question, Does the Sabbath point forward or backwards?

Yes you guessed it, the very words point backwards to:

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

So there we have it according to the law, the 7th day Sabbath points back to creation not forward to Christ.

And If you knew the law which Ill leave you to study yourself you would also know that there are other Sabbaths outside of the 7th day Sabbath that do indeed point to Christ and the rest that comes through His sacrifice.

So thank you for illustrating my point so clearly. As I said its easy to twist the scripture when one does not understand the law.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

I believe it been replace.

study those passages carefully with chapter 3 and then go to the places Paul gets the imagery from and you will find the opposite is true. the message given here is a warning about not keeping the Sabbath.

I will not twist it, but lets bring it in context a bit more, 2 verses before that statement we are given the context. Also it does not say Sabbath Day, it says "Days"

So lets look at the text in context now:

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

So what law was against us and contrary to us? Lets not speculate lets see what the Bible said:

Deu 31:24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
Deu 31:25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,
Deu 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

There is a reason Col2:13 is there, it is to point out WHICH law he is talking about, I will submit it was not the 10 Commandments. And the Sabbath Days spoken of were not the 7th day Sabbath, but that of the festivals and ceremonies. And that can only be seen if you don’t take the passage out of context to fit your needs.

Note the 10 Commandments were in the Ark, but the Law of Moses was on the side of the ark as "a witness against thee"

Deu 10:1 At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
Deu 10:2 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

All through the OT God, made a distinction between the Law, ordinances and the Commandments:

Exo_24:12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them

Jos_22:5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

2Ki 17:36 But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
2Ki 17:37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

So when we say there was a law done away with I would agree, the question is which Law? Not the 10 Commandments for it is writen:

Lev_22:31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD.

Deu_8:6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

Neh_1:5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

Psa_119:176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.

Mat_19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Joh_14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1Jn_2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

2Jn_1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Rev_12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev_14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev_22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

In fact just to help out a little.

First point is that we are being warned as the last line you quoted said:

Heb 4:11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

Notice the issue is disobedience due to a lack of faith as it is written:

Heb 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Heb 3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
Heb 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
Heb 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
Heb 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

So the issue is they did not believe or have faith and disobeyed God. So what is the rest they did not enter? well the text told us it was those who died in the dessert which of course are those in Israel who did not enter the promised land.

Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

This is a quote from the Psalms :

Psa 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Psa 95:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
Psa 95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
Psa 95:11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

So we see it is about Israel not entering the promised land.

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

now notice that now the author directly connects the 7th day Sabbath with them not entering Gods rest. We see this in the words "in this wise"

Does the law teach us anything about Israel not obeying the Sabbath before going into the promised land?

Why yes see Exodus 16 and the manna, what was God's purpose in this test?

Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

Wow so the Sabbath was a test by God to see if obedience to His law would be done. was faith needed in this test?

Indeed read the rest of the story.

Why does the Author connect the 7th day Sabbath with their not entering into the promised land. Well for that one you whill have to study for yourself but I will give a hint:

Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
Heb 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
Heb 9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

Why is the manna in the Most Holy where judgment took place once a year?

one more clue:

Deu 8:1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.
Deu 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Deu 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Anyway what else does the author of Hebrews say?

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Some people Get stuck on this passage but its actually really simple reasoning. The author is saying that the rest in the promised land that eventually came after all those died in the wilderness was led by Joshua, Yet David said a long time after Joshua, today if you hear my voice, so then there must be a promised land to us also. because if Joshua had given the true rest then David would not have spoken of another day namely "today" if you hear His voice.

In other words Today is the day you hear this, and David wrote it after the promised land thus there remains a promised land as the author clearly indicates:

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

SO we are traveling from type to anti-type and then the author reasons, If the true Day still remains then what else remains?

You guessed it the Sabbath remains because the true Promised land is yet to come.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.

And then the warning that we not fall after the same example of disobedience.

The law God desires a person to keep has been transferred from tablets of stone to tablets of human hearts (2Cor3:3) The core of the new covenant is the law God wants you to keep has been placed on your heart and written on your mind. This means you instinctively know in your mind how God wants you to live and in your heart(not your flesh) you want to obey. You have in this sense been born again of the Spirit.
You know the law placed on your heart and mind for when you fail to obey it you must have heartfelt conviction of your sin, for sin is transgression of the law. Therefore, if Gentiles are required to obey the fourth commandment by going to church on a Saturday, any one who claims to be Christian but goes to church on a Sunday and has no heartfelt conviction they are sinning by doing so, cannot be a Christian under the terms of the new covenant. There is no way round that, for God made a covenant that gave no one a licence to sin because His son died for them

Doug Bachelor who is a seventh day Adventist believes a fundamental difference between the old and new covenants is the law is placed on the heart under the new covenant whereas it was not under the old covenant. He also accepts people are Christians who worship on as Sunday and not a Saturday, and have no conscience they are sinning by doing so, though he believes the fourth commandment stands and God's laws require a person today to go to church on a Saturday. It is not possible for the two to go together, it is not compatible

HI Michael,
Yes Mr Bachelor does say that. HE and I would agree, God reads ones heart. Many Good, God fearing and loving people are in other faiths/denominations and do not know about the Sabbath, or never heard it, or have been told it is Sunday. I would remind you that for these people the Bible says:

Act_17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

At one point most preachers and pastors would say Saturday is the Sabbath, and give whatever reason for Sunday. However, i have noticed more and more, many are telling people Sunday is the Sabbath, a friend of mine was told this by her pastor. God will only hold his people accountable for the knowledge in him they have, for those that know better and teach error, Jesus said this:

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Hi Sylen
This is the core of the new covenant:

This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”[SUP][b][/SUP]

[SUP]17 [/SUP]Then he adds:
“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”
Heb 10:16&17

It does not matter what a minister tells you. The law God requires you to keep has been written on your mind and placed on your heart at the point of conversion by the Holy Spirit. It is the safety valve off grace if you like. You have been changed, born again of the Holy Spirit. You do not need any minister to tell you, you must not commit adultery, steal, murder etc, for that law is placed within you at the point of conversion.
I can only repeat. If a person sins by failing to keep any law of God written on their mind and placed on their heart they must have heartfelt conviction they are sinning by doing so. Nothing else is possible I am afraid under the terms of the new covenant

Do I take it from your quote of Matt 5:18&19 you believe Christians are required to obey all the OT law? Most seventh day Adventists I know do not believe Christians are required to obey all the OT law

No I do not believe we are to keep all of Torah, The 10 Commandments oh yes, the health Laws, yes. Ceremonial laws, No. Ordinances, no.
I think based on context of Matt 5:18-19 it is clear the Commandments are what he was speaking to.

With the greatest of respect Sylven, you have not addressed the point made. The law God requires a person to keep under the new covenant is written on their mind and placed on their heart by the Holy Spirit. This is mentioned in Jeremiah 31 and twice in Hebrews. This is at the heart of the new covenant. Therefore a truly born again Christian must know in their heart and mind when they sin, by disobeying that law. Nothing else is possible. So either no one who refuses to attend church on a Saturday can be a Christian if they have no heartfelt conviction they are sinning by not doing so, or the fourth commandment requiring Saturday worship has not been written on the mind and placed on the heart of the believer at the point of conversion

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Mat_15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Joh_14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1Jn_2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
