In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. 1 Timothy 2:9

Ya, I guess if you twist Scripture you can.

i mean, like tatoos, if they make me feel more comfortable with myself, do i have the right to make them? i have 5 of them at the moment, 4 of them where made before i found God when i was a punk-rocker, i do not regret doing them, since they will remind me of the life i dont want to have again. but is it wrong for me to have them? i have never really understood the christian wievs on tatoos and such.

I don´t think it is wrong to tattoo yourself swesearcher. Like carpetmanswife says, He cares more about what´s in your heart more than what you have on your body. I have been thinking about if I should tattoo myself on my upper arm, with a thin thorn chain with also a cross in it. I have still not done anything, but I do have it in mind, and I think it would fit me very well :) Just that tattooing costs a lot of money, and I am perhaps a bit afraid of the needle, though if I have managed getting a needle through my navel, I should also be tough enough having a drawing needle on me as well, or? ;)

fOR me, you can have your tattoo as long as it is eraseable. but if want a permanent, be sure you are really contented with it and have no plans in erasing it away in the future , meaning, don't regret having done it. .

"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am HaShem." Leviticus 19:28 I would never get a tattoo on my body.

As for my body being a temple, I don't treat my temple very well. I am gluttonous, I don't work out, I sin. I imagine my temple looks rather shabby. I guess one point for me is that I dress modestly.

strange how so many thing tattoos are bad

I wonder if they also thing over/ udnereating is bad?
eating wrong things?
not beeing active?

all those are bad for the temple....

I think we can modify our bodies if we do it for the right reason, and not simply to look good in other peoples eyes

Seriously people still bring up Lev.? Can you honestly think they are talking about tattoos? ROFL Check your history facts people. That has nothing to do with tattoos! I dont lay down and have them cut my flesh open. And I dont do it with sticks and rocks. People should READ AND UNDERSTAND scripture before they use it as a weapon.
Me getting a tattoo is no different than my pastor goin to McDonalds after church and gettin a Big Mac. You cant hop around the Bible and pick & choose what parts you want and what parts you dont want. It is so easy to find fault in others sometimes but we cant look at ourselves and find the things we need to change. We should first look at ourselves before we ever lay eyes on anyone else. GB!

I dont want tatoo's but I know plenty of Christians with them, some from prior to christianity some after it depends. I do know my body isnt as much of a temple as it should be right now, I made some mistakes in the past couple months, my faith hasnt been as strong as it needs to be, but im definetly working on it, and focusing on my life with God.

billy the kid is the smartest guy in here, seriously. people get caught up in religion and pick parts they wanna interpret. everyone says YOU CAN'T HAVE BEER you can't get a tatoo, because the body is a temple and then they eat double quadruple pound whoppers and ice cream and are overweight and dont take care of their body. hahahha people are funny
