in one word, no..Christians cannot be perfect or sinless, because we are human. We make mistakes and sin..it's how God made us. all we can do is strive for perfection.

that's true in human thinking and religion. (and people worldwide love it, and die believing it)......

but it's not quite what God says in His Word.

especially the meaning of God's Purpose, Plan and Word in Yahshua.

and if the meaning is missed, then just saying word for word definitions in man's way of thinking .... is like when Jesus rebuked satan in peter.

Jesus didn't die and be resurrected and ascend into heaven to have a bunch of people still serving satan ..... rather to set them free,
free from serving satan, to serve the one true God Himself and no other gods or idols or self.

true that, with man, it is impossible. Jesus told Peter, James, John, and all the disciples that.
but with God, all things are possible. and since Jesus told the disciples they must be perfect, because their father in heaven is perfect,
that is something God can do, and He does do, in those who believe in Him and trust Him to do it.

God is not a man, that He should lie.

man corrupted this message - the meaning God would have His children know. man corrupted it, so there is a lot of

distraction

from the truth. the biggest church on earth corrupted everything they touched and taught - total heresy - for almost 2000 years.

they aren't supposed to promote heresy here on this site, but they still post a lot of nonsense. as long as they are deceived, as long as they trust 'flesh' and heresy, they cannot know the truth, let alone post it.

that is why there is so much dissension and division and quarreling and disagreements and so on HERE.

in the assemblies of ekkleisa, purified and set apart by God in Jesus Christ, there is no such arguing nor disagreements.

almost no one here has experienced pure and holy and righteous and good and right fellowship in Christ Jesus,
and
probably few ever will.

Jesus says whoever seeks and keeps on seeking will find... seek the Father Himself. His very presence. like sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to HIM, that is the one thing that is required, and it is good.

in one word, no..Christians cannot be perfect or sinless, because we are human. We make mistakes and sin..it's how God made us. all we can do is strive for perfection.

Really! Is it possible that we can survive one day without sin?
Why did Jesus command such an impossible thing when He said, "Be perfect even as your Father which is heaven is perfect", and then contradicting, "No one is good accept God"
We are perfect, even as our Father is perfect, in Jesus Christ.

We are perfect, even as our Father is perfect, in Jesus Christ.
How true yet while we sojourn here in this vile body of flesh we groan with all creation for the consummation of the age.

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Well hopefully slackards like Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the rest of the hall of famers listed here can catch up to you in the resurrection.

well, as yahshua said to be perfect, look in scripture to see who he says was perfect..... (a lot of people will still be upset, like the fat woman who the doctor told would have to give up chocolate ice cream and vanilla shakes; she didn't go back to him, did not do what he said to do, and got worse and worse blood sugar and other troubles, then diabetes, then died; all because she wasn't 'perfect' - she didn't do what the truthful doctor told her to do that would have saved her life).

look in scripture to see who yahshua says was perfect >> from genesis exodus leviticus numbers deuteronomy psalms isaiah jeremiah malachi matthew mark luke john acts ephesians philippians first john et al first peter et al jude and revelation.

only a few people will be able to see who is perfect. but it's right there in scripture. plain and simple and true.
That's correct Jeff, keep on trying and you will get there with the Lords help,John 15:5 I am the vine you are the branches,he who abides in me ,and I in him, bears much fruit ;for without ME you can do NOTHING. God bless.

The bible says we were made perfect in the spirit so then i don't understand why people are saying we are not perfect unless they are focusing on the flesh.

John 3:4

Just checking. . .you do understand that verse is stating that only together with us would they be made perfect, right?

that's not quite clear, please clarify > do you mean you are with Him and so you are and will be who He wants you to be , or without Him (which doesn't make any sense) ?

i agree with Him. as He told the disciples telling them "if you think you can do it on your own, you have totally failed already; but if you trust your heavenly father to accomplish it, then it is already accomplished/ done (or as good as done, in some translations : same meaning > trust the Father - He always fulfills His Word)

In James we read: Show me your faith by your good deeds. This is true. We live in a world full of Christians who say that they have saving faith. They say I'm saved by the blood of Jesus. They say I believe Jesus, yet their works are sin. They continue to lust and sin everyday. They say they sin everyday and they say that you can never stop sinning because they were never set free. They continue to lie, to steal, to lust, to cheat, and to curse and swear. Don't be deceived, if you're bearing these kinds of fruits it shows you that you did not go to Jesus in true faith and you never became born again and you never became changed. Because those who become born again and changed no longer do those works. They have been put to death by the power of Jesus.

Now many of these Christians will tell you, "I'm still a good person though and I do charitable works, I just can't stop sinning". It is because you have not laid real faith in Jesus and your faith is dead. In James we read: show me your good works that proves your faith. Because it is true! No good works shows that Jesus hasn't set you free and so when you say no no that's not right, we will all continue to sin, you are actually saying that Jesus Christ doesn't have any power to change people and you're denying the fact that Jesus Christ came to the world to set sinners free from sin and to give them a new way.

You see it is written the scriptures that the Lord Jesus changes us unto good works and holy paths. If you are not walking the narrow way and you do not do good works but you continue practicing sin every day, you are not changed by Jesus. You do not know him. You are not born-again. You are still following the broad path to destruction. It is a big deception dear Christians. I challenge you; show me your works. Are they righteous? Are you looking in lust? Are you set free from your evil? Or are you continuing in your evil and you never went to Jesus Christ to be set free. It is time to repent if this is you and go to Jesus to be set free so that you can walk this new way of keeping yourself from evil that comes by your faith. That comes as a product of your born again status in God's kingdom through your faith in Jesus. You see Jesus is real. He does change people. That's why he came.

He came to make sinners unto righteousness. He came to change the hearts of wicked men to become pure living children of God. If you are not living right and you know you are not even you are going to church and you say you believe and you read your Bible and you do many religious things, I want to warn you that your fruits prove that you don't know Jesus because we all know that Jesus does change people. Everybody who has been changed by Jesus already knows that they are changed and a new creation. They know they're no longer addicted to all the drugs and sin because they are new. That's why they have a testimony. That's why they're out there telling others about the good news that Jesus does change people.

We must strive to become perfect. Christ called us to freedom from the bondage of sin, not for us to be put back into it.

"Perfect" not meaning "sinless," but "complete,"
Col 2:10-15 declares that the Christian is complete (perfect) in Christ.

And yes, we must practice godliness, but we will not be sinless.

If that were true, then why would Jesus tell the adulteress to go and sin no more? (John 8:11)

MatthiasProctor - after you were saved.. how often have you lied, stolen, etc... and remember that thinking about doing these things is sin also?

The fact that people are imperfect is one of the most verifiable things you can see.. because we are human.

Now- in regards to John 8:11.. Jesus was talking about her adultery in particular.. not saying .. now you will not sin at all in any area anymore.

It was more saying-- 'You now love me, I am now with you.. so in return I want you to refrain from adultery'

Psalm 19:12-13

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

True Christians stop sinning they overcome sin. Unfortunately, chances are, I am not a true Christian because I have not been perfect, along with the vast majority of Christians. But through Jesus Christ, we can overcome sin.
