Embattled Oregon Gov. Kitzhaber announces resignation

Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber announced Friday he would resign amid a mounting ethics scandal involving him and his fiancée -- even as he remained defiant, lashing out at the media and former allies.

"I am announcing today that I will resign as governor of the state of Oregon,” Kitzhaber said in a written statement.

The amazing thing is, Oregon voters gave him another term despite roundly disliking his fiancé, Cylvia Hayes, and believed for the most part the stories last fall during the election campaign that she used her position as "first lady" and gubernatorial advisor to earn business for her consulting firm.

Another old socialist bites the dust. Maybe there's hope for the U.S. getting rid of the young one in the White House.

It's actually rather emblematic of the direction the Left is taking.
