I tell them that Jesus loves them, and that they can NEVER lose their faith, but simply misplace it. You may not have read them yet, but I've written on here about some of my own battles that caused me to misplace my own faith for a long time.. I also refer people to my threads, which are stickied on page 1 of this forum. I've had many people tell me they read my stories and my testimonies on here, and how much I helped and inspired them. That is always humbling to hear, because I don't consider myself to be an inspiration.. :) I've had alot of people pm me and ask me to pray with them and I've even led a few of them back to Jesus.. that's an awesome feeling and makes me cry every time I do..lol.. and I thank God because he's using me to help these people.. :)

1) Ask them if they sincerely want to talk about why they are feeling that way.

2) Ask them what happened in their life to cause this loss of faith.

3) Ask them if they sincerely want to seek to reunite with God.

4) Ask if they will commit to an in-depth study of Scripture to find answers for them.

5) Agree to listen without attacking, and agree to participate in said in-depth study.

No Christian can reverse such a situation in another persons life UNLESS that person is sincerely desiring to reunite with God.

(anyway, my thoughts)

Being as I have been a rotating door Christian I asked myself this question and the answer that I came up with and satisfied me was it was Me who walked away from God as God was always there waiting with open arms for me to realize that I was a dazed, lost and confused Blond.....He was always faithful I was always faithless and stubborn and sinful needing a Savior that I refused to accept. When I finally realized I was the one at fault things cleared up and God was the one who cleared them up for me. He is the best teacher I have ever had. Men/humans have failed me but God never has.

As for someone else best thing I can do is listen to them and love them and try and help them to find their way back to God.

It would depend as to whether or not they would want to talk about why they did and if they ask anything about it. I will be the first (or last?) one to say that I don't know every answer and I'm trying to find some things out myself.

I throw bibles at them and yell at them thru a bullhorn.....right up in their face......just kidding.
I like to get to know people and not control the conversation. The Holy Spirit gives opportunity and words to say......I wait for that.

Start by simply being a friend, and by listening to them. We were never meant to just slap a verse in front of people, and declare, "There's the answer, now live it."

It seems SO hard for many of us to learn to do this.

Understanding of their decision.

P.S. But not for the purpose of trying to bring them back.

I give them a hug.

Then I sit with them and offer them a cup of coffee.
When they get comfortable, I gently walk up to them and lean over and....

............I proceed to YELL INTO THEIR EAR..................

"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING???!!!.....CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY ,MAN!!!!!"

Kidding....We lead by example.
If they see the peace that we have, then it usually leads to conversation.

Honestly I really suck at this. I'm am the most un-comforting/un-helpful person in the world. I never know what to say to people to help out, and everything seems misplaced or rude. I have a vast admiration for all the people who've shown their skills when they comfort me :)

When end it comes to things like this, I'm even worse (lol). I either try to avoid the situation in the first place or guide the, to someone who can say it better than me.

And what kind of answers do you get.

What do you mean by "they can never lose their faith"
I mean exactly that. Once a person has faith, they can never lose it.. they can MISPLACE it somewhere for awhile, but it doesn't vanish into thin air and disappear for good..faith requires belief..as long as you believe in God, you haven't lost your faith..
