John 8:19 'Where is your father?' Jesus replied, 'You know neither me nor my Father; if you knew me you would know my Father as well.'

So by reading this verse we can conclude that if we know the Father we will know Yeshua and if we know Yeshua we will know the Father.

My question to everybody is how can you read this verse, understand this verse and still try to leave out certain parts of the Bible or try to change a God that is not changing?
Who in this thread is trying to leave out certain parts of the bible?

The title of the thread does not state certain parts of the bible should be left out
I just read through your replies and can see why you are so defensive. Sorry, I was actually not speaking to anybody specific but if the shoe fit...

I am not defensive at all, just stating the truth. Possibly you have drawn the conclusion you have due to finding it difficult to understand the point of why the question asked

Yes you are right, a simple question for somebody with a guilty conscience...
It appears the title of the thread has upset you, I am sorry for that. It has made you draw conclusions about me personally it seems. You seem troubled to me

As you have entered the thread, would you like to give your opinion as to the question raised in the title of the thread?
My view on the word of God is simple, we have to read everything to get to know God, if He tells you it is important you better believe it is important. On more than one occasion Yeshua tells us to keep the commandments and now all of the sudden people wants us to believe that Yeshua had a different set of rules than ABBA Father hence my remark to start of with.

Sorry if I broke the rhythm of the threat but it was my opinion on the title :) me thinking out loud (almost)

It seems to me you have trouble understanding the core of the new covenant the Christian is under and that is why you have reacted as you have. Who has said it is alright for a person to steal, murder, bear false witness, covet etc? No one that I know of.
Who has said it is not important to obey the commands God requires you to obey?

What is the core then? We are now under grace and not the law?

My statement from earlier refers, if Yeshua is the same as the Father why would he teach us differently? Strange that a God that is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow will teach you two covenants... maybe it would be more accurate for us to consider that people in the Old Testament and the Pharisees miss interpreted God's word, just like so many people are doing today.

Let me try and help you better understand the question posed in the title of the thread. The title does not seek to question whether a person should not steal, covet, bear false witness, murder etc, for God does not want any of his children to act this way obviously. The question relates to whether a Christian must read the literal words of the Ten Commandments in order to understand God does not want them to murder, covet, bear false witness steal, etc?

This negates most of what you have written. It would be nice if you had the confidence to directly answer the question, rather than continually deviate from answering it and making some of the unfortunate comments you have made

To begin with I did explain to you that I didn't answer anybody specifically and only voiced my thoughts on the on the title of the threat.
Secondly, I was not the one defending myself as a result of a random comment. I did not address anybody specifically to start of with.

The title of the thread does not state-or suggest certain parts of the bible should be left out
How about Ex 20:1 - Ex 20:17. Do you observe these and teach others to? Or do you teach them not to?

How about this opinion?

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Can you state for us the core of the New Covenant? How about to whom it was directed?

This was your initial post:

John 8:19 'Where is your father?' Jesus replied, 'You know neither me nor my Father; if you knew me you would know my Father as well.'

This was my response:

I wouldn't say that is being defensive at all. What is clear is you seem unwilling to forthrightly address the question the thread relates to. Why join a thread and make a comment if you feel unable to respond to the question in the title pertaining to it?
