Figure you will stop by here first when you get back on line Brother. Wanted to let you know that National Geographic has a 4 Hour TV Special titled: "Wild Australia" running now. It's in four 1 hour segments. I have really, really enjoyed it. I have learned a bunch about your country from this series.

Beautiful place that Australia. Much of it reminds me of places here in the US, but some of it is very unique. The Blue Mountains and the Rain Forest (which I did not know Australia had) were breathtaking in their beauty.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know.

Also, wanted to ask if the Typhoon that hit Northeast Australia was anywhere near you? Hope not.

God bless.........

Thanks, my brother. Yes, we have a beautiful country and incredibly varied scenery. The only downside, really, is the intense Summer heatwaves at times, and the distances we have to travel to get anywhere. No, I'm nowhere near the recent cyclone, that's along the mid to south-eastern coast of Queensland. I live in South Australia. But there are a few CCers from that part of the world. I pray they're well.

Tintin,
Brother, when you get done with responding to PR's post, I have one for you too.
Please reply to his first...there's no rush for mine.

I hope all is well?

Cool?
Ready?

When is there going to be a Crocodile Dundee Part 3?
Those movies rocked.

Any location scouting in Australia going on?
.....or will part 3 be about an wild Australian man "taming the jungles" of NY again?

Just wondering?

Hey, bro. That's rough, mate. You know how that question hits too close to home for me. :p I'm sorry to say, I don't have a clue about Crocodile Dundee Part 3. I know no more than you. They want to do another movie, but I'm not sure if Paul Hogan is up for it. That ship may have sailed...to the Great Barrier Reef. I enjoyed the first two movies for a bit of a laugh, but some of the scenes make my inner-Aussie (and outer-Aussie) cringe big-time. So, you're awesome, but I have no answer for you.

Depressing that I know this, but there already was a Crocodile Dundee 3. It was called Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. You are probably better off without that knowledge though, because it was horrible.

I got really nervous when I read the title, I was like "Oh my goodness what happened to TinTin!!"

But...I see my fears were unwarranted. :)

I'm a little sad......yet, I want to run out and rent it...... :D

I only have one question.......did he have a knife?

Because he was pretty proud of his knife in the other movies?

At first I thought this was a joke...

But then I realized that the joke fell flat...

This seems a little silly, but for a split second, upon seeing this thread, I thought 'Oh, no, what's happened to me?' Sometimes I'm a bit of ditz. I just checked and thankfully I'm all here. *breathes PSY of relief* Gangnam Style!

Thankx Tin.............I am hoping they air all four episodes one more time so I can have them all recorded.

Question: As Australia is below the equator........is the north more temperate in climate than the south? I know that winter here in the US is your summer........

One thing for sure, I learned more about wallabies than I thought I ever would. One interesting fact was that the European Bunny Rabbit is wreaking havoc in certain places on the vegetation, robbing the wallabies living there of a much needed food source..............While it isn't a joke..........I couldn't help but smile to myself and thing......."Boy, Tintin and those guys need to get out and do some serious rabbit hunting......."

Problem is that 24 wild European rabbits were released in the early days of settling Australia (1859), as a source of food and something to hunt. Unfortunately, those less than 30 rabbits became 10 billion rabbits by the 1920s. So yeah, everyone could do some serious hunting and we'd still be left with scads of the blighters.

Where I live in South Australia, Summer is generally hot and dry, occasionally humid. Winter has nothing on Winter in other parts of the world, but the wind goes right through you and chills you to the bone. I would say, our weather is quite Mediterranean or most similar to the weather found in states like California. I'm not sure if that's any help. But anything's better than more rabbits.

but Tintin, rabbits are soooo cute.. :)
Not when there are well over 10 billion of them and they destroy crops and native wildlife and vegetation. Australia would probably be a green oasis without all of those rabbits (well, not really, but it would be much greener).

Step 1: Shoot.

Step 2: Eat.

You have a lot of meals hopping around just begging to be taken.

Alternatively teach all the homeless people in the country how to trap rabbits. Feed the homeless and take care of the rabbit problem all at once.

They are destructive! I used to have an apartment with a large patio. I fenced my pet rabbit from my plants, then had an elevated garden on shelves, hanging plants, etc. Things were fine until he befriended the neighborhood cats...who taught him to climb. He soon got into the fenced off area and ate:

one queen palm,

one bird of paradise (they are supposed to be poisonous - he didn't care)

three tomato plants

but he was really after...
