I think this is awesome--TinTin is teaching us about Aussie culture! :D I'm going to feel right at home if I ever get to visit there... as I shout, "Stone the crows!" at everyone I meet...

Now I just need someone to teach me what... Let's see, what was that saying? "Up the river Thymes"? I've heard it (from someone from England) but have no idea what it means. It's always so funny to me that so many of us speak the same language, but yet, don't, in so many ways...

And TinTin, if you ever make it over here, I'm sure there is an entire host of people who would love to show you around and take you out for coffee!!

NOOOOOO! Not the chard! I'd almost take a bowl of chard over homegrown tomatoes. (almost... tomatoes are amazing)

...and this Swiss Chard recipe is amazing.

Savory Swiss Chard with Portobellos Recipe - Allrecipes.com

...back to the thread topic, which is all things Tintin. and inspired by Lynx's limerick in the "Scents" thread. It's the only poem I know that references an Australian city, but alas, it's not Adelaide:

There once was a young man from Perth
who was born on the day of his birth.
He was married, they say,
on his wife's wedding day,
and he died when he quitted the earth.

OK.....in my defense, it IS Monday!

I googled "limerick about Adelaide" and got a lot of results that had nothing to do with rhymes - time difference between Limerick, Ireland and Adelaide, comparison of crime rates between the two cities, and a lot of results labeled "Cheap flights from Limerick to Adelaide."

I think "The Stoned Crow" would be an awesome name for a microbrewed beer. Or plural - "Stoned Crows" for an indie band.

And every time they performed anywhere they would have one of three things happen: The cops investigate them for drug use, people trying to sell them drugs or people trying to buy drugs from them.
