AMEN and HELL keeps enlarging itself without measure (always room for one more) and moves to meet thee at thy coming............another truth that blows my mind is how many will dismiss hell because God is a loving God and they wrongly believe that God would not cause one to suffer for eternity based upon a temporary life of sin, rebellion and the rejection of his one true way out.....!

when they mention "a temporary life of sin", you can point out that the effects of that sin remain forever, and the sinners forever remain as sinners. It's just another attempt to prove God is not good unless he lets sinners off the hook so they don't have to be punished.

this is common in modern atheism, and many who claim to be Christians, a lot of Catholics, make this same argument. It's really a mindless argument in which a person thinks they have justified themselves as being not too bad so they deserve to be exempt from Hell. Some Christians use this kind of argument because it's too hard for them to think of lost loved ones burning in Hell. There is a reason Jesus said that if we love our families more than we love Him, we are not worthy of Him.

The great thing about hell and eternal torment is that we can know that all those who deny it will burn forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever. Point was directed a few who have used this statement to try and prove that hell/lake of fire is not forever.....and was along the lines of the fact that a man may live 20 years or 969 years in sin which is but a temporary, short thing as opposed to the suffering in the lake of fire for all eternal ages to come.....I have heard some say that is would not be fair and just for God to cause someone to suffer for eternity based upon a short, temporary life of sin while alive on this planet....statement was directed at the foolishness of such a statement which betrays ignorance of the scripture.......

I forgot to add my appreciation for God, for creating countless billions of beings for no other purpose than to burn them for eternity thus proving His love. I thank you also Lord that you didn't really pay the penalty for our sins, which is burning in hell forever, because well, that would take forever. Then we would be waiting forever to actually be saved, and miss out on so many great picnics around the Lake of Fire watching the wicked burn in it for the most excellent entertainment.

There are two Hebrew words translated as HELL; but they are NOT quite synonymous.

שְׁא֣וֺל can mean either: resting place of the dead (Ps 16:10) or place of destruction (Dt 32:22) depending on context.

גְהֶנַּע a place of burning does not occur in the OT; but is transliterated in the NT (Mk 9:47)

The word “hellfire” is an English distortion of “Gehenna,” the name of the ancient refuse dump outside the city of Jerusalem, which term was used by Jesus as a symbol of everlasting destruction. Lazarus was in rest, and the rich man was IN TORMENT, asking for a DROP OF WATER just quench HIS thirst...

That is all well and good, but unfortunately you do not know what "hell" is. The word hell can be traced back only so far as the anglo-saxon word "helle" or "helan" and it's definition is that of a "hidden place" There are four synonymous words for hell and the translators used hell each and every occasion that the words - Hades, Gehenna, Sheol, and Tartarus, were used in the bible.
Gehenna, was the garbage dump just outside of Jerusalem, where refuse was burned continually.
Hades, is a greek word for hidden place
Sheol, is a Hebrew word used for the grave
Tartarus, was used by Homer, when describing the subterranean prisons where the "gods" were imprisoned.

So, by combining all these things together, the translators painted a picture of a subterranean place where fires burned and was unseen by those living upon the surface of the earth.

There will be a lake of fire, that is a fact, but hell is not the lake of fire. The lake of fire does not yet exist...it will at Judgment day, but that is only after the millennial period. I know you want the evil ones punished, as do I, but let us let Our Father handle it at the appointed time and not send people to a make believe place. The only thing I have found close to what hell might be , is when the rich man sees Lazarus in the arms of Christ, but at a distance....a distance he cannot cross, a gulf, if you will, or chasm. The rich man did not overcome in the flesh, and his punishment now is to wait for the millennium, where works take place for redemption.
