So I went to this conference and it was all about spiritual warfare. The guy was like "demons have rights." And I'm sitting there like "what?" Well think about it. In the courtroom of God, it's a COURTROOM. Let's say a demon comes up to God and is like "See that person? they're a christian but they're sinning like there's no tomorrow and they aren't repenting. Can I go torment them?" God's gonna be like "I don't see why not." Because he is JUST.

However he gave us a way out and that is Jesus. If we repent of our sins, bind the demon and tell it to go away in the name of Jesus it will.

Remember the horrific experience at my school? I did a cleansing of my room and my bed last night and I had a GOOD DREAM ABOUT MY SCHOOL! The dream was where the moms of the school wrote apology letters to me.

There are specific steps to getting a demon to leave and I'll post them a little later but basically what we are doing is taking away a demons rights to torment us because we have rights too. We have authority over demons and we have the right to cast them out.

Now, you can't just be like, "Demon I command you to leave in the name of Jesus" if you have bitterness or greed or envy in your heart. That's why you repent beforehand.

What are your thoughts on this? oh and also...please can we act like Christians and be civil about this??? If you disagree with this let me know but please be polite! And please no hijacking. I know we all have emotions but please please please please set them aside for this one thread or start a new thread of your own and rant all you want about whatever you want. I'm sure people will understand. Thanks so much!

That will be all! ^_^

you're right.

demons get permission from people to be a curse in their life - from all kinds of disease, to any and all kinds of other trouble.

even in the book of Revelation it is written that hasatan the devil gets the authority from Yahweh to kill the true believers,

and Yahweh says to those praying for Yahweh to return His vengeance and bring justice upon the earth
that it will not be until all those who are scheduled to die for their faith have been executed, and then
He will swiftly execute His Justice upon those who have shed innocent blood.

"a curse causeless shall not come" (both scripture, and the book by that name) illustrates how very may people are cursed and do not know it - because they violated Yahweh's Word --- yes,,,
even 'christians'... it's a long long story, all true, about how christians wittingly(knowing) and unwittingly (unknowing) get cursed sometimes for the rest of their life, sometimes just for minutes or days or weeks or decades, and how some learn to be delivered.

Ephesisans 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

That being said one must remember there is also the world, and the flesh. It is esay to fall into "the devil made me do it" but we have a choice. The power of the Holy Spirit gives us that(referring to beleivers).

The Bible says the name of Jesus is above ALL names so one must show discernment is determining what the cause of any issue is. It's no talways a demon/devil sometimes it's just our own desires that move us to do those things that do not please God.

Are there cases of demonic influence? It would be foolish in light of scripture to say no, are we overcomers? In Jesus , Yes we are.

Thee are gateways like horoscopes, ouija, new age practices that open doorways to influence our thinking so it is best to stay away from ideologies that deflect from the truth of the Bible.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood. I didn't mean the devil or demons take free will. I mean they can influence us, put thoughts in our head, scare us, inflict us with diseases and a whole bunch of nasty stuff but they cannot take away our free will.

Hi, JFSurvivor.

The following was written TO CHRISTIANS...

"Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:" (Ephesians 1:1)

...and it mentions but one way of many that CHRISTIANS can "give place to the devil":

Ephesians chapter 4

[26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[27] Neither give place to the devil.

Yes, James confirms that "the wrath of man" needs to be "laid apart" in place of "receiving with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save the soul"...

James chapter 1

[19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
[20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
[21] Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

...and he continues on to distinguish TO CHRISTIANS the difference between the wisdom of God and "devilish" or "demonic" wisdom:

James chapter 3

[13] Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
[14] But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
[15] This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
[16] For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

How does A CHRISTIAN become free from the same? Well, through old-fashioned REPENTANCE:

James chapter 4

[1] From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
[2] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
[3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
[4] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
[5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
[6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
[9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[10]
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Yes, these CHRISTIANS to whom James was writing needed to REPENT or to "submit themselves to God", thereby "resisting the devil" BEFORE they could ever expect Satan "to flee from them". IOW, they needed to "draw near to God", "cleanse their hands", "purify their hearts", "be afflicted", "mourn", "weep" and "humble themselves in the sight of the Lord" and NOT just somehow think that they were going to be free from Satan's influence apart from the same. Yes, when we read how "the spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy", that's just another way of saying that God is a Jealous God or that He "desires us enviously" and He considers "friendship with this world" to be "enmity against Him" in that Satan is "the god of this world" (II Corinthians 4:4).

Anyhow, if/when the thread disruptors do show up, then know that Satan sent them as he always does...

I'm sorry if you misunderstood. I didn't mean the devil or demons take free will. I mean they can influence us, put thoughts in our head, scare us, inflict us with diseases and a whole bunch of nasty stuff but they cannot take away our free will.
At the same time, however, to whomsoever we YIELD our members to obey, that's whose servant we become:

"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" (Romans 6:16)

Sounds like your seeing some of the power and responsibility you have as a believer...from what you posted here, I say keep learning, but be careful because some folks teach these sort of things only to deceive believers.

For those interested, you can find a bit of a study Here on demons...

Yahweh Shalom

If a christian is living in the flesh (unrepented sin), then satan has them right where he wants them and would have no desire to torment them lest they repent and return to fellowship with God.
Job was a righteous man who walked with God, satan wanted to torment him so he would curse God and walk away from God.

Not sure I can agree with what the conference speaker was saying.

the Lord rebuke thee, satan.

Christ be with you always.

The flesh is not just unrepentant sin, as some would understand it...the flesh has many forms in legalism as well...

Ga 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings,

And one cant confess the flesh away, one has to learn to walk in the Spirit..by faith.

Some of the strongest demonic powers are in those who practice legalism.

After all this time, you still don't understand what Paul meant by "the works of the flesh". Again, God is Spirit (John 4:24) and His law is spiritual (Romans 7:14), too. Unregenerate man who only has a circumcision in the foreskin of his "flesh" can never keep the dictates of either a Spirit God or His spiritual law. As such, "the works of the flesh" will manifest in that he'll be unable to obey God with merely a "fleshly" circumcision. THIS is what Paul is actually talking about in Romans and Galatians.

Anyhow, we wrestle NOT against FLESH AND BLOOD, but against principalities and powers, etc., etc., so let's not get into this whole misguided "flesh" thing.

Where does the bible say we have to learn to walk in the spirit Mitspa?

As I read this I'm trying to get a grasp on how to address. Once satan and the demons evil spirits were cast out of Heaven they were sent to earth. All they do is evil thus we have evil on earth. Now for one or many to enter an individual they must be welcomed in. Another thing is evil spirits must first get permission from GOD to do anything. Take notice to when GOD asked satan have you considered MY servant Job, when the evil spirits came across JESUS and JESUS commanded them out of the man they asked if they could enter into the swine. A very important thing to ponder on is when the evil spirit said JESUS i know Paul i know but who are you, this is because evil spirits know if one has the GODHEAD BODY dwelling within them. It is the POWER of GOD that they fear and is only is able to cast them out. Another thing to ponder on is that it is best to leave one evil spirit in a person then to cast it out and seven more greater enter in. When dealing with demons we must use Godly Wisdom and have experience it is not just speaking them away. Keep in mind they were once angels thus having great strength. So I ask when one cast out a demon especially from an individual or home were have you allowed them to go?

Blessings!!!!!!!

I'd just like to point out that Satan and his angels have NOT yet been cast out of heaven. For example, Satan appeared before the LORD in heaven in the book of Job and he's still referred to as "the accuser of the brethren" who accuses the saints daily before God's throne in the book of Revelation.

Lucifer (now known as satan) and his angels were cast out of heaven long ago.. they are NOT still in heaven..they all reside in hell currently.. they are allowed to roam the earth and torture us, but if they were still in heaven, I don't think they would be allowed to do so.. jmo :)

Scripture says that they still have access to heaven and I'll be happy to share some scriptures with you along those lines. Out of curiosity, when do you believe that Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven? Thanks.

The only power the enemy has over us is Legal ground. You ask what do i mean by legal ground. Legal ground is any area in your Life that is not completely submitted and surrendered to God. See we as believers have got to come to a place where we completely surrender and when we are not we repent. God is a God who Loves us and wants to give us everything that we desire according to His will.
So when we allow the enemy to have legal ground the enemy comes opresses and builds a stronghold in that area of our lives. Matterfact some strongholds only come down by prayer and fasting. But God is a God who will deliver us how has He done this through the finished work. When we repent and we ask God to forgive us then He does and cleanse us from unrighteousness. there for the enemy is there by illegal terms some opressions will not just go away by a simple binding we have to go a step further then that.
For example in the Beginning God created the Heavens and the earth the earth was without form and void. Deep darkness covered the face of the earth and the Holy Spirit Hovered above the waters.
But nothing Happened until God spoke His word let there be LIGHT!
Jesus did the same thing when He was tempted by the enemy He used the Light. So when we submit to God we literally have the ability to use His word. His word never returns void it is sharper then any two edged sword! So when we speak the Word it is a weapon the Holy Spirit uses to create and Break whatever it is sent out because the Holy Spirit acts upon Gods word! Not only the Holy Spirit but angels ect. Because the Holy Spirit is the Power of God's word which dwells with us. He is precious but also the most powerful being Look at this He took almighty God(Jesus) and put Him into Human form! I mean the Holy Spirit is the Power of the trinity! The Holy Spirit is with us He is the comforter and He helps us to overcome praise the Lord!

go read job he still goes before God's throne but if you read revelation there will be a time when he will not be aloud to come to the throne of God any Longer!
