Hi, this is my first every post on a Christian forum so I apologize for any errors. So I'm 17 and was brought up through my family's church at a young age. I've also been put into private Christian schools as well. At first I didn't ask any questions and just believed what my preacher or teacher told me. But about 3 years ago I started to think about scripture and the community in a more tense light. I got fed up with other people who called themselves Christians being nothing but ugly people who didn't lead lives of saved individuals. They would slander and judge all while saying they were Christians. Meanwhile I just sat there thinking "How could such people be saved yet act so ugly"? This then opened the door to so many other questions that have just gotten worse about 6 months ago. So finally I decided to consult others for help. So here are some questions.
1. The Jewish people are said to be the chosen people, yet do not recognize Jesus. So why is it that the chosen to not believe in Christ yet are put at a higher level than Christians?
2. So it's said as long as your convert you are saved. Now if a man murderers 12 innocent citizens but converts why is he allowed through the pearly gates but a man who did many good deeds but never converted is not?
3. In the world there are many churches all attaching to Christianity. Well what makes them all right. Is a Lutheran Church put at the same level as the Catholic Church even though they have different beliefs?
4. Why is it so many Christians want Jesus to come back. I can understand wanting their savior but your talking about a genocide of unbelievers as well? It just makes my heart hurt.
5. This is a question many Christians face and dismiss quickly. But why is it that evil is allowed to spread and wreak havoc on the world? Since it was because of Adam and Eve why must we suffer? If it is because of free will why was must we continue to be thrusted into sin at birth.
6. Why is it that all sins are forgiven when you sin? I have seem countless colleagues be Christians but continue to dwell in sin over and over as if it doesn't matter. Yet by law they are saved but not those who do good but not convert.
7. The disciples has a direct relationship with Jesus and we're saved and are put in a special place. Yet we are supposed to believe in him yet never experience the same physical evidence of CHRIST'S existence. How is this fair?
Please do not take my words as me attacking the religion, I am a lost sheep in need of guidance.

1 - The Jews were Gods chosen people long before Christians ever existed.

2 - Because sin is powerful and requires a wage to be paid. That wage is paid in blood. Christs blood made this so that his sacrifice was the one sacrifice needed, but it's a gift, and like all gifts it can be refused. All people have sinned. If you have sin you need to have it washed away by blood. Take note, that no where in the idea of sin is the 'goodness' or 'badness' of a person ever mentioned. God says 'your works are as filthy rags to me'. Salvation cannot be earned by being good, because being good does not clean sin. Goodness, as you are seeing it, is a human view, not a Godly view. Gods concept of good is not the same as ours.

3 - Just because someone applies the name Christian does not make them so. The KKK tried labeling themselves as a Christian organization, yet it's clearly not. Many Christians do not accept Catholicism as Christian either. There are fundamental requirements for what God will require as part of His Church. Many of the differences are not essential to salvation. And in the end people from many denominations will be saved because the important parts are accepted, even if smaller issues are debated.

4 - No matter what we know Christ is coming back. Life is hard, the promise of heaven is a much happier idea than what going through life means. I'm sure most Christians would love to see a worldwide revival before Christ comes back, but we know most will not be saved. And really, everyone dies anyways. Whether it's before, during or after his return, they will all still eventually die. It's not like his return will cause deaths that wouldn't otherwise happen.

5 - Evil spreads primarily due to sin.
Adam and Eve had a nature of sin that infested them and as a result was passed down. And continues to be passed down. Sin is actually more than just doing wrong in Gods eyes, it's a stronger force than that.

6 - Well, if they continue in sin without it bothering them then they are not showing the fruits of the spirit and you then have to question if their salvation is genuine to begin with.

7 - Where in the bible does it teach fairness in life? And look, even with Christs physical existence right in front of them this did not make things easier for them. They still sinned. They still denied Christ to others. They still were martyred. It's easy to assume that it would make everything easy, but looking at the Apostles and their own behaviors and doubts, it obviously didn't do them as much good as you might suspect.

To answer question 1: Christians(Gentiles) were grafted onto the branch after Jews rejected salvation. God is not finished with His chosen people yet, they will have another chance. It's all in the Bible. However, during this time, His favor is not with them. Just look at what they have faced since that rejection.

Secondly, don't concern yourself too much with how God treats His creation. Comparisons tend to lead to jealousy and discontent. Just concentrate on where you fall and what your faults are...because that lets you know what you will overcome.

Also, don't ever think you are alone. We are out there. I was a bit older than you when I started finding out why I believe what I believe. Go you! You might want to look into apologetics. Basically, it tells you how to defend your faith and in the process, gives you more facts about what you believe.

Feel free to message me. I am here.

Be blessed and keep searching!

1. The Jews were the chosen, but when they abandoned God by rejecting Jesus, He turned to the Gentiles (us). However they still have a chance to return to God

2. A man is saved because the blood of Jesus cleanses him, he appears righteous before God. A man who does good deeds but isn't saved has also done bad things in his life, and a holy God cannot allow anything unholy in His presence.

3. A true Christian church believes in Jesus and that he came to die for us so that we may be saved. I believe the difference in TRUE Christian churches is how they pick clergy (staff) and maybe a few other minor things, but they must have that core belief to be Christians.

4. We want Jesus to come back because 1) He said he would 2) What you refer to as genocide is actually the coming of perfection, which means all that is imperfect will no longer remain. God will bring all the believers to heaven, pour his wrath upon those on earth, and then make a new, even better heaven o_O where everything will be sinless and painless. The perfection of God is what we crave.

5. Free will. God gave us free will to choose, and so often, people choose evil. He allows evil because he allows us to choose. If we were perfect, then so would our choice be, but we aren't so evil spreads. But one day he will wipe it away.

6. All sins are forgiven because Jesus paid for them all, not just a few to pick and choose. A true Christian makes genuine effort to turn from sin, although no one is perfect and so we can never be completely sinless.

7. Perhaps you've heard of Thomas, known as the doubter. He walked with Jesus yet did not believe that he was alive until he "put his fingers were the nails were" etc. When Jesus finally did appear to him, he said "blessed are those who have not seen yet still believe". And we do have proof of Jesus, we have the bible which is very credible (although I don have time to explain all the reasoning for that) and many other historical documents.

Hope this helps!

On the, question, why, does, a, murderer, get, to, enter, the, pearly, gates.

They, don't, that, is, in, this, room, in, my, Father's, mansion, and, is, why, the, Israelites, didn't, get, to, enter, the, pearly, gates, either, because, they, murdered, via, genocide. But, those, they, were, allowed, to, murder, also, would, not, have, found, the, kingdom, of, God, else, they, couldn't have been, touched, and, would, have, escaped. If, you, would, have, found the kingdom, of, God, at, age, 97, you, are, invincible, up, to, that, age, and, after, but, if, the, son, sees, no, matter, what, He, does, you, will, not, find, Him, then, you, are, allowed, to, perish, at, any, point, prior, to, 120, years, post, rebirth. The, pearly, gates, are, for, those, who, find, Him, while, walking, the, earth, not, after, earth. Their, is, a, different, plan, for, those, who, perish, and, 100%, of, murderers, will, perish, within, 40, years, of, murdering, like, the, Israelites. They, are, corrected, on, their, day, before, the, King, by, His, massive, love, and, are, taken, home, missing, out, on, what, was, in, store, for, them, here, in, this, room, in, my, Father's, mansion, but, have, a, massive, childhood, equal, to, what, would, have, been, here, in, store, for, them, there, in, the, home, of, the, son, or, Holy, Spirit.
