The church of Jesus Christ is spiritual, not made with hands. We are His church. It is not a building, not even a place. It is a condition of our hearts. The Spirit of Jesus Christ dwells in us, we are His holy vessels, therefore church is always in session. :D

As our brother Jason said, this thread is for Christian rap. If you don't like Christian rap, don't listen to it. :)

Didn't God say He change not? We are to be the same no matter in church or out of church. If you can't praise God with it in church, why listen to it out of church. God's word inspires through the Holy Spirit. No need to compromise. We can all rationalize but its just flesh talking and not the Word talking. God calls us the light of the world. If you look like the world, what would be the purpose of the world coming to you to share the light. The Satanist will tell you that Christian rap is their beat like the beat of voodoo. This is another way for Satan to keep those who liked the worldly music to remain trapped. The only difference is the lyrics. The beat and their movement when they are singing is no different than night club dancing.

God never said in His word, thou shalt not smoke either but He did say,, our bodies are the temple of God and to guard well the avenues of the soul.

i'm not sure what it means, "in church" and " out of church" ??

we are the church - the building with the steeple is just a meeting hall for our earthly bodies to get together at. sunday is just one day of the week. the other 6/7 we need to abide in Him too, dig?

now i say that, but i agree that when we're together to worship we should use some discernment not to offend each other and when we sing together we ought to sing what is focused on praise -- which many songs are not. that doesn't make them 'no good' -- what i'm saying is there is a time and season, that's all. if you're in a congregation that's not offended by whatever genre of music, i don't see it as taboo -- it's about lyrical content and purpose, not about rhythm and timbre.

Seriously, there isn't any music on the face of this earth that can compare with the holy angelic music that plays in the midst of the glory of God's throne. We just have to find the music that glorifies God in each of our own hearts down here on this earth for now. :)

And again, the thread reads: "Christian Rap." If you don't like rap, why are you on this thread?

I know they're kinda old school but I love Christian alternative metal band, P.O.D. And G.R.I.T.S. is an awesome Christian hiphop group and their rhymes are insane!

Christian rap, classical, rock , folk or whatever are fine OUTSIDE a church meeting. Church is for Worship - NOT entertainment . We have the psalms and spiritual songs in which to worship God during a Lords Day meeting . (Ephesians 5:19 & Colossians 3:16 )

Are you kidding me?! Do you know how many youth groups praise and worship the Lord to rap, hip-hop and metal? All three of my (now adult) kids were actively involved in youth group & ministries for years and witnessed kids from all over come to their worship & praise nights and give their hearts to the Lord! They also had disciple teams, who helped these kids grow in Christ Jesus. These kids forfeited their weekends of partying for a night of praising & worshipping the Lord.

But if it was up to you, none of that should have happened because you don't approve of the music??? :confused:

You posted a small part of one scripture, “Rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” But you omitted the rest of it, which reads:

2 Timothy 2:9-15
9. And because I preach the Good News, I am chained like a criminal. But the Word of God cannot be chained.
10. I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
11. This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with Him, we will also live with Him.
12. If we endure hardship, WE WILL REIGN WITH HIM.
13. Even if we are unfaithful, He remains faithful for He cannot deny who He is.
14. Remind everyone about these things and command them in God’s Presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are senseless and can ruin those who hear them.
15. Study to show yourself that you are approved by God, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, cutting straight to the Word of Truth.

Paul is telling us to remind one another not to argue and debate God’s Word but to trust that Jesus is faithful in bringing people to salvation through ANYTHING. We are to endure whatever comes and know that Jesus remains faithful no matter what. Jesus will bring the ones He has chosen to heaven where they will REIGN WITH HIM. And even if you don’t believe it, yet Jesus will still do it because He cannot deny He is LORD.

Paul says that we are commanded to tell people to stop fighting about our own interpretations of the Word because it interferes with what God is doing in each individual life. We ARE approved by God because of Jesus Christ’s Atonement on the Cross. We don’t have to be ashamed even if someone says they don’t like the way we worship God. We know the Word of Truth because the Spirit of Truth dwells within us.

Ok? So this guilt-tripping and condemnation about music needs to stop now.
