Taking the bible to mean what it says is good practice.
Imposing scholarly constraints on God's word should be done cautiously if at all.
Let's consider the implications of entombment before sundown Wednesday.
Wednesday night- Thursday is 1 night and 1 day
Thursday night-Friday is 2nights and 2 days
Friday night-Saturday is 3nights and 3 days
If Jesus arose on the third day then the resurrection was on the Sabbath and not on Firstfruits.
The doctrine of Jesus being the Firsttruits of the resurrection from the dead is lost.

Lev 23:9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Lev 23:10 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.
Lev 23:11 He shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.
This is the Wave Sheaf, the type of Christ presenting Himself to the Father as the perfect sacrifice for sin.
Joh 20:17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' "
Here we see that Christ had not yet ascended to the Father and presented Himself as the Wave Sheaf, yet later that day we see that He had...
Joh 20:19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you."
The Wave Sheaf was offered at/about 9:00AM and it is very likely that Christ ascended to the Father at the same time. The passage in John doesn't say this per se but the timing fits.
The resurrection is not pictured by any of the Feast Days. What is pictured is the Passover, the death of Christ in our stead and the presentation of His perfect Sacrifice to the Father.
