The animation is so stunning.
I'll let the story speak to the individual.

Everything begins with a thought and sometimes remains so.

The beauty of art is the scope it allows for personal interpretation :)

We see what we want to see.


My interpretation of the animation is this -


He's a man who's haunted by his past and whose thoughts and dreams are consumed by both a lost love and the idea of a future one.
He keeps chasing this thought of a girl- I assume she's an idea because the animation lines are white and kind of ethereal.

He dreams of her at night. She's the angel who would save him from his drudgery.

However when the time comes when the girl he's been thinking and dreaming of reciprocates and "shows up", he's no longer interested.

He's too faded and jaded to believe in it anymore.

:)

That's my way of seeing it...
 
I had so many ideas come to mind............but, then I DO suffer from OTD, so that isn't a big surprise.

I agree that it appears to be created to allow the viewer to interpret it as they wish. :)

Though I admit I don't know what OTD is, and I had to google that acronym....still quite unclear to me.

thanks for sharing that. I think your interpretation is pretty good. Each time it seems the man is closest to holding the woman she seems to disappear from him. Perhaps it is the hope of love that makes the man do or continue with the dance of life.
