i just don't like the marketing ends of things with the rings...my parents bought a beautiful Black Hills gold ring for my confirmation that has been a reminder of my commitment to God and myself in my purity, sexually and also to stay clean of drugs, tobacco, and abusing alcohol....it was never a "purity" ring, but it has the same purpose....
that said, i haven't worn that ring in 10 years because it doesn't fit anymore....doesn't mean i have changed anything about my commitment...jewelry is just jewelry...you make jewelry something you place your hope and trust in, and it takes the form of an idol...use God as your reassurance in your times of struggle, not a piece of jewelry...that's my pair of Lincolns....
