Ok, so am I the only moron in this room? I am always doing something stupid ... ugh! LOL Good thing I smile through it .. I would be a total wreck if I didn't!! :)

Hubby went to the cottage for the night to go ice-fishing with his brother and their friend. No one is home, just myself and the 3 dogs. (Yes, I am a 'dogoholic') Anyhow I have not dyed my own hair in quite awhile since I have a good friend who's a hairdresser, and I decided that my hair was much too blond this time around, so I run upstairs and low and behold, there is a light brown hair dye that I have had in my bathroom cupboard for awhile. I thought I would try and attempt this all alone since no one was around ... what can it hurt, right? I did not want to get any of my clothes full of hair dye so I stripped down to my underwear and went to town in the mirror dying my hair. I let it sit for 30 minutes or so, and I washed it out. I then went in front of the mirror to check out my new colour, only to see that my hair wasn't the only thing full of brown dye! Covered were the walls, some of the mirror, the floor under me, not to mention stained across my forehead, my ears, cheeks, neck, the top of my arms and onto my shoulders, and get this! EVEN MY THIGHS had brown hair dye on them!! NEVER AGAIN! Now to try and get this stuff off of my cheeks and other parts of my body before church tomorrow! EGAD! What a ditz I am! My dogs think I am right whacked!! LOL

lol...I have done a lot of crazy things myself....I once accidentally punched a microwave...then in my law enforcement class we had a day where we were learning to track criminals...crazy me volunteered to be the fugitive..I ran into the woods in my uniform and decided to take a way I knew no one would find me in....I ended knee deep in mud tripping and falling through the woods....on the bright side my class never found me...
I did get lost, thankfully I didn't run into Canada...that would have been fun explaining that to border patrol...

roxxy, I shouldn't tell this, because it's on me, but no, other people do stupid things. I am a well qualified mechanic. I have certificates and accolades out the wazoo. Prolly in my late thirties or so, I put a clutch disc in backwards when replacing a clutch and pressure plate. Any standard shift car has them. When you slip the clutch too much, that is what burns up. A very common job. And very labor intensive. The transmission must come out, and that is what we call "heavy line" work. I'm lazy. I DO NOT like doing things once, much less twice. Well, I put a clutch in this car and let down off the lift to drive it. Clutch wouldn't release when I pushed the pedal in. That's a bad thing. Drove it anyway hoping it was a sticky plate. Didn't help. Came back, maddern a wet hen, and went to yanking it back out.
When I pulled the disc off, I immediately knew what I had done.
This is a really big no-no. Never ever fail to double check your work when you are going that far into a cars innards.
But I failed. Dude I was working for said he never saw anyone pull a trans and replace a clutch as fast I did the second time.

Only an idiot puts a clutch plate in backwards.......shoot, I've fixed cars that had that done to them. Outside of liberals, I'm not sure there is a bigger idiot than me.

Ok I can talk now crazy is the subject....smile...I will admit only one of my 1,599.8 crazy thing's I've done. A few years ago While working for a school District I showed up on a Holiday, not even thinking about it...walked in, lunch in hand, dressed for success- the whole nine yards...And myBoss was there only to check on the building...Oh the fun they had with that for years. So I can say, as forrest Gump once said..."Crazy is as crazy does." I felt two inches high. Smile

Got that right :) And the fortunate even survive to talk about it. About seven yrs. ago, I was metal detecting an historic area all by my lonesome. In this isolated location, there was an old and "dried up' canal ... or so I thought. I figured if I walked slow and cautiously, I should be alright. This is a major no-no for anybody that knows better ... and I did know better. Just chose to take my chances thinking I'd be fine. Well, I slowly moved around and the canal seemed secure enough. And then I hit a soft spot ... and my feet froze. I could not move them to save my life as I slowly began to sink, detector and shovel in hand. Within 30 seconds, I had sunk above my knees and could feel myself continuing to sink amidst the sludge. Lemme tell you, all I could do was pray that this canal's depth wasn't greater than my height ... or my shoulders. I was too frightened to be angry with myself but I knew I had messed up ... bigtime. No point in hollering either because there wasn't a soul in sight. After a couple of agonizing minutes, I finally stopped sinking when the sludge reached my belly button. And a very thin and fragile tree branch was my only hope of getting out ... slowly and very carefully. Took me 15-20 minutes to gingerly work my way out but I finally managed to fight the suction of the sludge ... minus my boots, of course, and looking and smelling like a wet rat. I walked back to my car ever so thankful but feeling like the biggest fool alive. Driving home barefoot and in my underwear wasn't the greatest feeling either but it sure beat the alternative. And there was no hiding my foolish endeavour from my wife. :( How do you explain getting out of the car smelling like a sewer and in your underwear ? :( If she could've taken me behind the woodshed with a twitch, she would have . Over-confidence can be a dangerous thing I spose. Nah Phil ... you don't hold exclusive rights to the crown of foolishness. You're going to have to share that honour with the likes of me :(

Foolish things....yep the Blond has done that a time or two...got dressed in the dark and on to work. Not until a few hours after I had been there got on the elevator doors closed and I looked at myself in the doors...had on one navy shoe and one black shoe. The style was so comfortable I bought two pair of them different colors.... You guessed it they all look the same in the dark....felt like a fool but didn't go home to fix the problem.....just played Blond the rest of the day.....I'm good at it......lol
