I wish you all a blessed day. I'm off to Church.
Some will not agree with me, but the first day of the week is when Jesus rose from the dead. He was buried on Passover because the Hebrew day begins at evening. There is no night at the end of the day. Jesus died a 3 PM (before the thieves legs were broken, and the spear was stuck in Christ's side) and it took time to negotiate with Pilate and take Jesus down from the cross by pulling out the spikes, carrying His body to the tomb, wrapping Him in linen, and then placing Him in the tomb with a great stone in front of the door, and sealed. By the time it was all done it was evening, or the beginning of the 15th day, being the same night God passed over Egypt in Exodus 12. Nevertheless, Sunday wasn't the day all those people then recognized as the first day of the week. That was instigated by a pope named Gregory centuries later.
