I'm not too sure how to start. I'm not sure if I really believe in prayer. But I'm here.. I don't know what else to do. My addictions are too hard to fight. I'm slowly losing my mind. and I feel like I'm imploding. I am depressed and suicidal and don't know how to move on from this pain. I'm so alone.

Lord, I pray for riversong. Thank You that You have brought her here so she can get support as she battles her addictions. We pray You would show Your might power and deliver her. We thank You and praise You for Your mercy on us. In Christ's Name, Amen.

The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom... --2 Timothy 4:18

I've been where you are now. I've felt how you feel..alone, depressed.. Click the links in my signature below to read my story of how God pulled me through depression and suicidal thoughts, and answered my prayers. May my story bless and inspire you. :)

Hi, Riversong. I just replied to your post in the new members forum, suggesting you get professional help, such as a pastor. I also mentioned that the Bible is a source of guidance and comfort.

As far as believing in prayer, the Lord hears every word we say and every thought we think. He loves us all. Paul instructs us to pray constantly (1 Thess 5:17 RSV).

The Lord does not like sin, though, and you say you have some addictions. I suspect he wants you to fight those addictions. It seems likely to me those addictions are what is pulling you down.

You say the addictions are too hard to fight. Well, addictions are not easy to fight. That is one reason the Lord told us to stay away from the things that we become addicted to. The Lord will help you, though. When you defeat your addictions, I think you’ll find life to be beautiful.

you can read all my messed up thoughts too if you like.... I still do scare myself though when I look in the mirror

one of the songs I will listen too when I'm down, I try to sing along even though my horrible mind does not memorize anything that well so trying to sing on my own is a no no...

Maybe I should add to my previous post that it is important that we always be listening to the Lord. Prayer is like a conversation. We pray all day, explaining to the Lord what is on our mind and listening to what he has to say. He guides us in that way.

The Lord cared for you enough to send His son to die for you, did he not? He loved you enough to shed his blood to pay for your sins so that you don't have to pay for them yourself.
God cares for you riversong, there is no doubt about that!

@riversong:
That doesnt even fit with the person of Jesus and what He has done for mankind on the Cross... He walked in our shoes when He never had to... He wouldnt do so if He didnt care... so you're mistaken about God... you're sadly listening to the mouthy liar the devil who hates both Him and you... just open the Gospels... these words are not words of a man or a madman or a conman... only God could know the hearts of men and have superb wisdom and love like He did. Praying that your eyes will be opened to the truth...

No matter what happens, suicide is never the answer. I have been through a lot, and I have seen that If we are still here, God has a purpose for us. Jesus cared enough to die for you, so that you could have life. Don't let doubt get to you, He truly cares about you. If you need someone to talk to, my inbox and many others' inboxes are open. Praying for you.

This is the verse that speaks to me in worst and most depressed moments... maybe it will help you as well... God never failed me so far... He will not fail you either... hold steadfast in hope Sis.

Psalms 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance...

This one too is my favorite... God is compassionate, and quick to hear us when we turn to Him.

Psalms 18:6
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

The Good News is that prayer is effective whether you believe it or not! God doesn't need your personal faith to make Movement in your life, but you will rejoice ever so much more greatly when you witness this Movement with a faithful heart! There's a time for everything. Just a time. A second really in a lifetime. This is your time to squirm and to fret and to wring your hands, but your and my Lord God the Father of Israel Who is and Who was and Who will be forever is MOVING in your heart just now and led you to this place to pray! Expect big things. I will. Tomorrow is going to be different!

He has helped you in so many ways that you don't even realize. Think about the basics of life:
Did you wake up this morning? Are you breathing? Have you had any food today?
God has done so much for you that you can't even comprehend it all!
God has shown you the greatest love anyone could ever show to anyone.
John 15:13 "Greater love hath a man then this, that a man he lay down his life for his friends."
God sent his son to earth to walk on earth as a man and die on the cross for you. He cares about you more than any other person does or ever will.

I'm glad you're here, riversong. God has helped you in all the ways that ray_james has mentioned and then some, and also by leading you here where there are people who understand what you're going through, who offer their ears and open their hearts to you. Welcome to CC, and I and others will lift you up in prayer.

You say you're not sure if you believe in prayer, but I think the fact that you're here is a pretty good indication that you do. That's a good thing. Matthew 21:22 - And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
