My brain needs an off switch. My brain so needs an off switch. In the meantime, anyone else out there suffer from analysis paralysis and have some good strategies on how to avoid thinking yourself crazy over situations you cannot immediately resolve?

If this is what transition stress is like 6 months before the impending transition, well you guys could be in for the slightly more crazy side of cinder between now and the end of the year (or at least a few more random posts like this that don't really say anything while I pretend to say something).
There was a famous tv personality who also was a successful businessman and owned many expensive properties in big cities and he was asked how he managed to sleep at night with so much to worry about and he simply said that he imagines all of his problems tied up in a big old bag that he will put aside and deal with in the morning.

Someone else said they wrote everything down on a notepad so that he wouldn't have to keep dwelling on it in his head.

Howdy y'all. I slept well, but I think I lived two weeks in one night in my dreams. Ever wake up and say, "Well... what was THAT all about?" Oh well, my brain sure didn't get bored.

Payday yesterday, so today before work I'm going to cash my check, pay a bill, get a phone card for my next month's phone and data service and pick up a few things at the store that I'm almost out of.

zeroturbulence you may be slightly dyslexic. Or maybe lysdexic. What you have is a 3250M. Siberian's looking at a 3520M. Although I did install an electric guitar in my computer - RealStrat. I play it through my keyboard. I don't play on stage at church, but it comes in handy for making soundtracks.

My sleep schedule is wayyy off. Working as a nightshift nurse in the ER has forever changed my circadian rhythm to that of the other side of the world...but I guess its totally worth it because the adrenaline rush some nights is amazing. Well, time for some coffee!
Sleep times can get really out of whack, for sure.

I worked in a medical office once (I billed for a small physical therapy office).

Once when the boss went on vacation, we played a joke on him and staged a "party" for the day he came back. He returned to find the office manager dancing on top of her desk to "Let's Give 'Em Something To Talk About" while the rest of us were whooping it up and cheering her on. When we saw him, we said "...but we thought you were going to come back TOMORROW!!"

Eventually, he learned it was a gag and that all the work had gotten done in his absence. It's a good thing he had a sense of humor about it.

Stuck on an 80s fix. I just might buy a can of hairspray and a blazer with some shoulder pads here.

Happy Tuesday, people!

Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they might have died from Avian Flu.

A bird pathologist examined the remains of all the crows and, to everyone’s relief, confirmed the problem was definitely not Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.

However, during the detailed analysis, it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the birds beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues, it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.

MTA then hired an ornithological behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills to car kills.

He quickly concluded the cause:

When crows eat road kill, they always have a look out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. They discovered that while all of the lookout crows could shout “cah!”, none could shout “truck!”

I would accept having those answers to the following questions:
My ex husband drowned in what??
So, how much did I win again?
What happened to the neighbor's car?
This will feed my family for how long?
.... I can't think of a good question for the last one.
