Again I say, if a cat trusts you, you can trust the cat. All the cats we've ever owned walked on a leash, played fetch, could heel, came when you called, played hide-and-seek with my kids, shepherded our rabbits and kept them in the yard, took naps with the rabbits & guinea pigs, let hamsters & the parakeet climb on them, meowed on command, did not jump on the table or kitchen counters, let me bathe them, let me dry them with a hairdryer, and let us know if there was someone near the house (mailman, meter reader, etc.). I trained our cats just like I trained the dogs. The main difference between a cat and a dog is that you have to have a little more patience to train them because they have to trust you first. A dog will obey a command. A cat will obey only when you are trustworthy.
