Though a righteous man falls seven times,
he will get up,
but the wicked will stumble into ruin.

(Proverbs 24:16)

every branch that beareth fruit,
he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

(John 15:2)

do the righteous ever fall?

yes? no?

whose perfection is our hope?

yours? or Christ's?
And then will I profess unto them,
I never knew you:

depart from me,

ye that work iniquity.

~ Jesus Christ

don't forget the context:
those who will come to Him boasting of the works they have done, not of His mercy.

however:

No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.

(Psalm 25:3)

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said,
“Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”

(Luke 5:8)

what happened to this man?

did the Lord reject him?
or did the Lord transform him?

this is an important question to me, because like Simon, without that the Lord wash me, i am also a sinful man.

how about you D ?
do you need a savior too?

i do like your avatar :)

i didn't think you were as needful of a kind remark is all.

I would definately not be needful of that, I think you missed me on that.

I was pointing out to you that the one I posted (or the "beware of me" one) verses the first you liked (the beware of God one) would appear far more honestly worn (in the sense of) who one is to beware

It was to that one deserving your former kindness

Which I responded to with a wink because we are both a D see?

That is what I was playing with you with.

Christ's commandment, after all, is this:
love one another

hey D. -- do you love me?

yes? no?
^See^?

Hey, D?

That was what I was spoofing on, because we are both D's (in short) when you dont quote the person and abreviate their name to the point of first letter only.

And so I answered you but was really playing, in a more serious tone.

Enjoy the back and forth I am unsubscribing

Peace

The commandments
of Jesus Christ is the Word of God.

Do you
have faith
in the commandments
of Jesus Christ
to save you
from your sins?
Obedience to the commands of Christ will save me......"Christ is the author of salvation unto all them that OBEY Him" Heb 5:9.

"If ye love Me, keep my commandments" Jn 13:14

Those that "worketh righteousness" (obey Gods commands) are accepted with God Acts 10:35.

Each person is either doing the will of the Father or working iniquity, Mt 7:21f one is either serving sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness, Rom 6:16, no other options.

Jesus said this to them after these many people said to Him - Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? What were these many people trusting in for salvation? Jesus or their works? Are we saved through faith in Christ or by works? Ephesians 2:8,9.

How come the author does not state it like this..."And if any man sin, they have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" Why did he say we?
'We' indicates that he is writing to believers and includes himself in their number.
