The issue isn't about who we were or who we still are if we don't stay in Christ..It is who He is. dare we say He is not sinless?.For it is He i am seen thru in Gods eyes..I wasn't perfect when born, I was found dead in sin, and I cannot perform well enough in my current self even, as I try to please God...Yet Have we not figured out that this is not who we are anyway, anymore?
I am in Christ, thus my history is now His..God seated Jesus at His right hand, and Seated us with Him. I no longer live, it is He that lives in me. If you remain in me and my Word remains in you..... is the only thing I must attain to, for it is a free gift that has given me Complete victory now. And Sin has been destroyed in me thru Christ.
Life is a process, yet it is not an inevitable event that I should sin. How could He say shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase...and answer by no means! If there was noway to stop sinning. So to does hHe not warn that if we live like this we will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven?
Gal. 5:19-26. ..Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, Jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy, drunkeness, orgies,..etc
Are we to make ourselves feel better by bringing Gods standards down to earth...for a collective vote of acceptance? Or has God finished the work in His son? And we need to attain to His level thru His son?
I am not perfect, but He that lives in me is, and I am the new me found in Him.
