Sure, breakups can be tough. You may want to run and hide from everyone, but it's so important that you take your heart to God and be real with Him. Read His Word and soak in His prescence. Also, get out of the house! Surround yourself with loved ones. Blast uplifting music, find a new hobby. Apply yourself to something you really enjoy. In time, you'll heal.
God bless, friend.
Sometimes on this forum i will see replies that are just so simple, straight forward, and utterly magnificent! :)

Been through my share of devastation!
The only thing that really, REALLY got me through is hope for a future.
Thinking: well if he isn't meant for me, then someone else is. And: God can't let me be with the wrong person. And: in a year from now, this will all be a thing of the past. And: I NEED to let him go so I can have my future husband and family.
During those moments of heartbreak, realising God has everything in control helped me to be positive and to let go.

Hope is where it's at, yo (Romans 5:3-4).

So true about being around positive people. A little Pearl Jam and Bon Jovi won't hurt either!
Totally true about music though. I couldn't have gotten through any hardship in this life without music. Put the headphones on, crack them sounds and sing so loud you almost lose your voice. It's helped me all these years and I still do it to keep me in high spirits.

Of course, it's the Lord Who got me through. But that music helped subdue feelings of extreme sadness, anxiety, anger, disillusionment, loneliness, fear, whatever.

Never heard of Pearl Jam, but I do remember Bon Jovi. My mom would play them quite a bit when I was growing up. They have good music and actually pretty clean compared to what other groups have out now. Although, listening to that type of music is something God told me to avoid as he is teaching me to put all my trust and faith in him.
I went through a similar period too, but now I'm not convicted in that area. Today he teaches me faith in ways other than music. I hope you receive much growth from that calling!

I don't only break up needs encouragement, heart broken too deserve encouragement. I always listen to my favorite song ' Will You Be There", plus the words spoken in this song, the voice of Michael makes my heart melt and feel God presences, and I start to walk again.

I pray that through our broken hearts, God's glory in this too would be seen. It's normal, and healthy for a time to withdraw a bit, but don't let the fear of heartache stop you from being vulnerable to others. I have found in my own brokenness that being honest and open with it other's are encouraged to seek God who comforts us in our distress. One thing we all have in common is heartache to whatever extent. God is so faithful to comfort and heal us when we submit to him.

Sorry, this sounds a little churchy, but it's intended as a compassionate encouragement.

I've been to a breakup just 2 days ago. It hurts a lot honestly. But, thank God because He always makes me think and feel that i am not alone and not deserving to be hurted. All i want to say is move on with the power of God.
