In 2 Tim 3:16, do we agree that he was speaking of OT scripture since obviously the NT wasn't canon yet?
Not true. Paul's letters were already seen as Scripture (2 Pet 3.16).

You edited out most of the list, quite conveniently :

  • Acts 1: Peter decides that Judas should be replaced.
  • Acts 2: Peter speaks to the crowds at Pentecost and converts thousands.
  • Acts 3: Peter heals a lame man and again addresses the crowds.
  • Acts 4: Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, addresses the Jewish rulers, priests, and scribes.
  • Acts 5: Peter speaks the death sentence upon Ananias and Sapphira.
  • Acts 8: Peter rebukes Simon.
  • Acts 9: Saul's conversion; Peter raises the dead and heals the paralyzed.
  • Acts 10: Peter, at God's direct command, opens the door to the Gentiles.
  • Acts 11: The Judaizers came to Peter to complain.
  • Acts 12: Peter is arrested and saved by an angel.
  • Acts 15: Peter decides the issue at the Council of Jerusalem, and after he finishes speaking, "all the assembly kept silence."

  • Peter walked on water
  • Peter called for a replacement to Judas
  • Peter settled the issue at the Council of Jerusalem
  • Peter was appointed, by Jesus, as shepherd of Jesus' flock
  • Jesus prayed specifically for Peter
  • Peter spoke for the Apostles on the Day of Pentecost
  • Peter received a special vision from God to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles
  • Peter was given a special revelation about Jesus being the Messiah
  • Peter was given the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven
  • Jesus paid the temple tax for Himself and Peter only
  • Paul comes to Peter to consult with him
  • Peter generally speaks for all the Apostles
  • Peter spoke judgment upon Ananias and Sapphira
  • Peter has his name changed to "Rock."
This list is meaningless. Peter is not the rock that the church is founded upon, but rather Peter's profession of faith and that statement of Jesus Himself Peter made in Matthew 16:16, which the Lord Jesus commented on. The Lord has always been the Rock and Cornerstone of scripture, no fallen man. So, all you've done is use error to try and establish your own authority, and this even despite any real linkage between what later became Popes, this fictitious office of centuries later, and Peter, or any preeminent church of Rome existing, among churches of the first century, in the first place. Christ doesn't even bother to include any church at Rome in the seven churches of Revelation. Your cult's entire foundation is a fabrication.

Peter wasn't even speaking. Jesus was. How could Peter profess anything when he wasn't speaking?

More personal opinions and manufactured theories using words not found in the scriptures

For example, when you "re posted" peter's arrest, you left out the part about being rescued by angels. You also left out Peter walking on water.

have to watch you at every turn

Not true. Paul's letters were already seen as Scripture (2 Pet 3.16).
Valiant, again in 2 Peter 3:16, refers to scripture as OT.

Proving Christ through the OT Scriptures was a huge part of the Apostles testimony. 2 Peter talks about those ":twisting scripture" because they don't want to realize that Christ was the Messiah even though it was laid out for them in scripture.

Yes they probably all got it from Tertullian. So if he got it wrong so did they. On a question like this CERTAINTY is required.

And NONE of them said that Peter was a continuing Bishop in Rome. Indeed Rome did not have a monarchical bishop (overall bishop) until about 150 AD Clement did not know of one. Ignatius of Antioch did not know of one.
yahweh never heard of one, and he knows everything.....

oh, btw, he did say, that there would be a false ... um... well, you know...

that's what this thread is all about,

what yahweh calls a false hideous foul death-dealing soul destroying dragon... from the pit.... running

the rcc as long as he permits it to (he did set the boundaries, beyond which it may not pass... and he

did set the day of its destruction - complete and utter destruction for all the blood of the innocent ones that it shed, and they did not resist...)

[h=1] Jude 1 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
[/h] [SUP]1 [/SUP]From: Y’hudah, a slave of Yeshua the Messiah and a brother of Ya‘akov
To: Those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept for Yeshua the Messiah:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]May mercy, love and shalom be yours in full measure.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Dear friends, I was busily at work writing to you about the salvation we share, when I found it necessary to write, urging you to keep contending earnestly for the faith which was once and for all passed on to God’s people. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For certain individuals, the ones written about long ago as being meant for this condemnation, have wormed their way in — ungodly people who pervert God’s grace into a license for debauchery and disown our only Master and Lord, Yeshua the Messiah......

perhaps anyone, from any religions , can turn to yahweh to receive his grace in yeshua,

IF they are willing, yahweh may have mercy on them....

as yeshua said about even jerusalem , he WOULD HAVE gathered them, but

................................ THEY WOULD NOT.....

still, he did save a remnant for himself from them,

and he "MAY" save a remnant for himself from the rcc also... if he will.... (and if they will instead of opposing him at every turn, with every thought and every deed.)

No matter what you say mattp0625 God is still in charge. The same God who will toss you in the Lake of Fire for what you are teaching.

2 Peter 3:16-17
[SUP]16 [/SUP] as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked

Untaught,Unstable people twist the Scriptures to their own destruction. This is what Peter says about people who twist the Scriptures to teach lies as Truths from God.

You mattp0625 are twisting Scriptures to fit your lies from Satan which will lead to your destruction.

Your list of Peter and what he did means nothing mattp0625 because Peter was not chosen by God to bring the Gospel of Salvation to the Catholic Church. Paul was chosen by God to bring the Gospel of Salvation to the Catholics, not Peter.

1 Timothy 4:1-3
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,
[SUP]3 [/SUP] forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Doctrines of Demons:
1. Mary as Co-redemptrix.
2. Mary as Mediatrix.
3, Mary as Queen of Heaven.
4.Mary's immaculate conception.
5. Mary's perpetual virginity.
6. Mary's bodily assumption.
7. Mary's right to be worship.

The reason you are hung up on teaching the lies of the Catholic Church mattp0625 is your conscience has been seared with a hot iron.

Forbidding to marry. The Catholic Priests are forbidden to Marry, this is why most of the Catholic Priests molest little Children.

Abstaining from foods. It is a Mortal sin to eat meat on Fridays.

These verses clearly show how far the Catholics have wander away from God.

Nothing you say matters mattp0625 for I know for a fact you have not accepted accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Like i said before I have the Gift of discernment from the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit has revealed to me that you are not a child of God.

You mattp0625 have depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. This is a serious matter here mattp0625! Your very Soul is in danger of Hell Fire! If you keep on the wide and broad road you are on you will not be allowed to enter into Heaven. This is serious! You think you are playing games that will have no effect of you.

This is not a game mattp0625! Keep on this road and you will not see Heaven. Turn away from the path you are on before its too late. Is being in the Catholic Church more important to you than Eternity in Heaven with God? Is your Pride of being a Catholics more important to you than God?

Humble yourself before God before its too late mattp0625! You only get one chance to enter into Heaven. After you die there are no more chances!

Repent mattp0625! Reject Mary and the Catholic Church! Accept the Salvation Jesus has for you!

Being in Righteousness with God is better then being tossed into the Lake of Fire!

I cannot remove the dumb code to answer all the lame nothings in that list. That has got to be a joke for having any kind of relevance

Anyway, If someone can remove it and repost it I would be thankful. If not I will toss them up one by one as I find them.

Acts 15: Peter decides the issue at the Council of Jerusalem, and after he finishes speaking, "all the assembly kept silence.
?

--------------------------

Its actually polite to be quiet when someone is speaking, Peter was silent when James gave the last word lol

From here...

Paul already being in Antioch where these come down to were teaching this

Act 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

Paul says of the churches that of Judaea in Christ, this

Gal 2:2 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ

So when they came to where Paul was teaching what Paul was obviously not in agreement with a dispute breaks out between them. So this question needed to be resolved and this was how they determined Paul could do this for them.

Acts 15:2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

It was those (which come down from Judaea) who determined that Paul (and Barnabas) go up to Jerusalemto the apostles and elders (who were so before them) and who these (from Judaea) aparently trusted to make the correct determination for this dispute they had taken up with Paul and Barnabas (the two in agreement)

They must have at least known the others by face (unlike Paul) who says he was unknown by face of the same

And so Paul submitted to these being more willing to have those who were apostles before him make such a thing clear to these ones.

Acts 15:4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

And as they arrive, the same matter (of Acts 15:1) is immediately brought forefront by these

Acts 15:5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

Acts 15:6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter

When there had been much disputing on the matter,

Peter was the first to speak saying

Acts 15:7... Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

Acts 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

Acst 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Acts 15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathersnor we were able to bear?

Peter continues,

Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

After this, Paul shared the things God has done by them among the Gentiles

after this James was the last to speak and gave what he determine on this matter

Acts 15:19
Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

This was all that was to be written by them

Acts 15:20
But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. (Acts 21:25 also which repeats the same things)

Acst 15:22
Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren

And so it continues,

Acts 15:23 And they wrote letters by themafter this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:

Its called subverting others souls

Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

Acts 15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

Acts 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 15:27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

Whether by word or by epistle, these would speak the same things.

So Paul was already teaching in Antioch when those who come down from Judaea to where they were began teaching error to the Gentiles. Paul and Barnabas dispute with these (who were wrong). And it was these guys determining that Paul and Barnabas take this questionup with those at Jerusalem. Those who they knew (by face) where Paul said he was unknown by face at the churches of Judaea (who were in this territory)

Paul submited to these (those in error) for the sake of everyone involved. I dont believe Paul had any doubt the apostles before him would not agree with him. This cross check worked for everyone involved.

Paul sets a great example.

And Paul was correct all along and Peter and the rest of them just back up Paul and Barnabas as being in the right (because these other guys were just adding words to the message and they disallowed that. They broke yokes (they didnt add them to the church) as has been done.

Peter speaks, Paul speaks, James reads a scripture, and then gives James sentence on the matter (while Peter is in silence). Everyone present were all in agreement, Holy Ghost, apostles, elders, and the whole church everyone was thrilled about being unyoked (and not having to lose their foreskins).

They wrote letters and accompanied by chosen men, along with whom they came, and who would say the same by mouth as well. Which is a safegaurd for the church.

Paul did not need their apporval (for himself) in his office but rather because of the dispute with those in Judaea who come down teaching in error, Paul submitted to those (who were in error) and went the extra mile and take this thing up to Jerusalem to assure them, Paul and Barnabas did and Paul was right. Peter didnt have the charge over Paul, and never rebuked Paul it was Paul who rebuked Peter (like Peter rebuked Simon)

Like that matters really.

They were first called Christians in Antioch. Modern day Turkey I believe
That is not quite on point in that I was addressing the point of foundation not subsequent dispersal.

Also- no one "worships" Mary. Protestant false accusation. It's asking for prayers. Big difference and already covered.

What's your point ? ... Fact remains, there's none greater... but you make that list as if Peter was " the greatest "... Peter was wrong, as desiredhaven said, Paul rebuked Peter, most of the New Testament written by who ? Paul... Some where in 2 Peter, Peter even states this, and says some of Paul's wisdom is hard to understand, and that the untaught, will distort scripture to their own destruction ... Something to think about..
