One Perfect Place

In a big city, one has plenty to see and anonymity, but it can get very lonely, very noisy and isn't so friendly.


In a small town, you don't see much, but what you hear makes up for it. It can be very quiet, people are sometimes nosy and not always friendly.


In Christ, you may not see anything, but it's calming, pure and gentle. You grow in wisdom and strength. No, you may not see anything and you may not hear anything but what you experience is truly amazing!

And He is accessible in the big city, the small town, the country...so long as you provide Him access to your heart!

My perfect place is my hut!

Each time I go there I want to remaind inside it but, since I´m not rich, I have to come back to a noisy and dirty city I don´t like.

The "perfect" place is where your heart belongs.

Student...Love your post! I live in the Country, which is 10 miles from the city. I love living in the country, as this is where I simply feel closest to the Lord. Usually every week I need to drive into town a few times & I'm always a little caught off guard at the business of town. I start to feel anxious because of all traffic etc.. Many times I just pray that the Lord will help me to relax more in town. I've realized more & more lately that there is an "inner sanctuary" within us, that is "ever present" Jesus is my quiet place, which I can always resort too, whether I'm in town, or in the city...our inner sanctuary of the Lord is such a peaceful place.

You and I are a lot alike in this area. I was born and raised a country girl and would love to build a house in the middle of nowhere and enjoy living in his creation and the nearest neighbor is about a mile away at least. When I am in school around so many people I begin to get agitated because I love the serenity of living in the country.

I was raised in a city (I know them well) but since my childhood I wanted to be in those places country people know well.

The older I get, the more I live in that "quiet, secret place within my spirit". Outside stimuli doesn't call me as much.

But the greatest thing is that wherever I go, I take that perfect place with me. Especially when I have to wait in long lines!

we hope and pray that all of our Lord's family finds a place
of rest and respite away from the horrors that are in the world
and that are so rapidly increasing -
and from those that are soon to come.

thankfully at this time in our lives, our trips out into Babylon
are becoming less-and-less frequent.
the outside world holds nothing for us anymore, except when
our Father instructs us to perform a duty for Him.

we live in a beautiful garden, a bubble really,
surrounded by the world.
we are nestled in safety and are privy to many natural wonders.

A few days ago it struck me what was Adams sin. Lack of trust.
What are people born into in this world, lack of trust. When things go wrong who do we blame first, God, everyone else and maybe, finally , ourselves.

What was Jesus on the cross, but a statement of love, intent, power, victory, overcoming and most of all, you can trust this man, this God, this Lord.

We will never see things aright with our eyes, but with our hearts we can trust the Lord of all.
