Haha....I tell you...I couldn't get my daughter to go anywhere near a forest with me now. Lol..but we were laughing because when she was little...I would take her on park picnics,..and I remember we would put little caterpillars on our cheeks, and they would kiss us. Lol...and my daughter would say..." Oh mommy..they love the smell of strawberries on our breath..tee hee"....sniff sniff...yea mommy here is getting used to the loneliness of having a grown child....and not being needed! All is well...its a beautiful sunny day here! Thank you God! I love you Father!

Lol...my one child is visiting from college...she is the one thing in life I can honestly say I didn't mess up on! Lol...kidding but its true! I look at her and....sighs...realize she is older now with a life, and she doesn't need mommy like she did as a child. All parents get used to this I know! Lol...can't keep her a little girl forever. Life can be lonely when they grow....lol....why did I say lol....? That wasn't funny

"...she doesn't need mommy like she did as a child'

True. (for those who are very close to their mothers) But we will always need our mothers. She's the one we run to with heart troubles. She's the first one of our girl friends we want to share something precious with. It's a relationship not even a husband can fully engage.

My mother died less than 2 years ago and just typing this brings tears to my eyes. I'm so horribly homesick for her and the emotions lay just below the surface. In her last 10+ years of life, we wrote short stories and poetry together. It's so hard to find anyone to replace that in my life so I've stopped trying. I know she's with Lord but I still miss her. It's like a piece of me died with her the day she went home to Jesus. Just gotta re-channel the pain to see how to serve others and God.

I will never stop needing her because I love her. And someday God will wipe every tear away. He saves the best for last by reuniting us forever with loved ones. He is indeed a most gracious God. I don't know how people who don't know God survive the loss of loved ones.

My one regret in life is that I didn't have more children.

Wow!

If I had had a daughter like that, no doubt I would be missing her (she´s too sweet).

Maybe she was right about your breath!

But, about what yu said of getting used to loneliness... I don´t agree with that. There are bunches of people around who would enjoy strawberries and the smell of good words (you just don´t give it up, please)

I never took a worm like those (I seldom risked myself, I´d say) Perhaps because most of the animals we have wild are poisonous or ugly, in Venezuela.

I love you all!... :'( I'm kind of down in spirit today...I had a very sad dream...it woke me at 5 am...and I still can't forget it. Will someone pray I can forget it better. I pray.....

Dear Father

Please be with our sister Sky and help this dream to go away and for her to remember Your love and faithfulness that You want her to be happy and resting in Your Spirit. Help her to think happy thoughts of heaven and living with You there and please lift her spirits back to the joyful one that she brings to us each day. In Jesus Name Amen....

Love you Sky.

A late good morning from the Pacific Time Zone!

I had a good although tiring trip to Washington State last night with my DIL and two grandchildren. It was an international adventure! The Canadian dollar is worth nothing, so we just picked up mail and packages. No cross border shopping!

Hubby is working on the raised garden beds! I may get a garden in yet this year!

Nice pics posted in the last few pages, and sorry VW is going to be on less. Always someone moving on, it seems.

I hope everyone has a good day today!

So yesterday I am being a real girl.....I had a fasting blood test today and I will check my blood sugar level before going to see where I am and yesterday morning it was 200 before eating anything and I was angry with myself because I have been bad since the holidays which are long over now....

So frustrated and angry at myself because I know better I went for a swim and my blood sugar did drop quite a bit....I get home and the breaker box starts popping and I am now angry at myself, frustrated, and scared because the breaker box is randomly popping making me jump and so Blond is freaking out.....

Tourist gets up and comes over and gives me a hug and just holds me for a minute not saying much....and Blond thought....ahhh this is what I need peace and comfort.....I just love it when men know what to do when we women are freaking out.....How do they stay so calm? I don't know but I'm sure glad he knew what to do....I felt so much better after that.....thanks honey.

This seems as good a place as any for most of the people I've bantered with, laughed, sometimes insulted -- all in "good clean fun" if you can believe that, please -- to be sure they read it.

My life is getting very busy. Between school, work, church, etc., I've been pretty busy anyway. But now I have a new contract with the Missouri Department of Corrections counseling parolees from the western side of the state in addictions recovery and family relations. It's going to be quite interesting, even stimulating, and I hope to get some research out of it as well.

Bottom line is, my time on here is going to be sharply curtailed. I'll be around some, but not nearly as much as I have been since joining back in December. Keep us (my wife in I) in your prayers as we move through life, enjoying it and one another immensely. We've got a lot of "little projects" planned, including planting a small vineyard.

That will keep her busy, as whe is ready to retire after 40+ years as a NICU nurse -- and I'm ready for her to retire. She comes home spent physically and emotionally after just about every shift. I want to see her enjoy herself more, and I want to dedicate more time to service work for the Christian community. There are many problems facing church families today, not the least of which, unfortunately, are addictions and marital issues, things that are "right up my alley" in which to help and counsel.

So, if you don't see me around quite as much, that's why. I enjoy coming on here for a time every now and then, and that will continue -- it's almost therapy for me. But just not as much time from now on, as I won't have it.

God bless y'all, keep fighting the good fight, live in Christ, love God, love others -- and laugh at yourselves every now and then. It's good therapy.
I so enjoy your jokes and fellowship. God bless you and your wife and enjoy your new life's endeavor.....look forward to your little visits...

Lol...well tomorrow is a new day if I breathe! Guess then I'm just going to jump out there in society for employment....and just fake that I have become shy lately. Lol...I can always go back to my old job if need be...but the stress and madness of it! Ugh...but with God I will be strong! At least at my old company people knew my heart! Ugh....the things you have to go thru proving to strangers in companies that you are a good person! That's why I quit dating a stranger!....whew single people good luck if you date that way. I'd much rather be friends with a man first!

I remember when Melisa, my daughter, left home for the first time. I sat there in the house by myself and cried like a baby. Then I got on the phone talking to my cousin in Indiana saying you knew this would happen why didn't you warn me? As she is 7 years older than me and had already gone through this....

About three months later Melisa returned home for about a year before she ventured out again and I had just started getting used to her not being there when she returned.... She is always welcome in mom's house, but I am so happy that she has grown up into the adult woman she is today with good work ethic and responsible....

Now if I could just get her to believe in Jesus and accept Him as her Savior. My fault as I was confused about that myself until I was 56. I have left her and my confession with God I know He will work it out in His timing....

a (late) good morning to you too :)

This wonderful. My hubby has done a few of those too. At this moment, we think of adding more knockout roses to the backyard.

What the type of flowers will you plant?

Last year we started our Butterfly garden, putting in what would draw butterflies. Swamp Milk Weed draws Monarchs. Our American population for Monarchs has dwindled considerably. One Monarch butterfly will lay one egg per milk weed. So if we get a few coming through, we may get several caterpillars off several weed plants. When we first purchased the swamp milk weed, little did we know that there some eggs already on them. What a wonderful surprise! I think we had about 6 caterpillars in all with 5 surviving to wing off.

Sister Skylove, I had serious separation anxiety when my oldest son left home to join the USAF in 1995. We had a wonderful heart-to-heart before he left and everything was cool, until the recruiter led him away from me. It was as if life was slowly ripping my heart out of my chest. My other two children had to help me to the car to drive home, I was sobbing that much.

My son loved space and military aircraft as much as I did and decided in the 4th grade that he was going to join the Air Force. He was getting his wish that day and I was happy for him, but heartbroken for me. So at home I played Pink Floyd's "Cluster One" over & over and just lay on my bed and cried my heart out till I had no more tears left. I missed him so badly!

But every time he called home, I mustered up all the joy and exuberance I could in the Lord and praised & encouraged him for his devotion to God & our country. After his basic training was completed, he said, "Mom, thank you for all the times you encouraged me on the phone. I could hear in your voice that you were smiling a me." (I'll never forget that!) :D He had no idea that as soon as we hung up, I would throw myself across the bed crying my heart out again and praying for him. LOL

I got a letter from the Dept of the Air Force a few years later congratulating me on my son's "exemplary service" (he moved up the ranks really fast!) and that in an essay, my son had named me his biggest hero. There's nothing on earth as great a gift as your own children giving you praise for their life. ♥
