Is adult baptism necessary?

I see where Gandalf (can I get your first name bro, feels odd calling you Gandalf) is coming from. I know when leading people to Jesus I don't mention baptism by water. Neither did the man at the cross need baptism. It seems important enough for the King to be baptised as we see heaven opens up in verse 16 of Matthew 3.

"[SUP]16 [/SUP]As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. [SUP]17 [/SUP]And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

So it has alot of significance if it would cause our Father to speak showing His love for the King.

So what I'm saying is: from what I can see salvation requires being born of the Spirit. We get baptised as a declaration of our faith and to fulfil all righteousness. Seeing as the King approves and God is highly pleased by this act it seems that as a Christ follower I would place importance upon it.

I have been told that it's common for people who have been recently baptized will face hardships shortly after. Being baptized isn't a "get out of jail free" card, and those who are baptized aren't exempt from temptation, suffering, etc. Many people get that period of grace when they're on fire for God, then for whatever reason reason (life) they are hit with an unexpected blow and suddenly they question their relationship with God. "Why am I being tempted? I'm saved! I was baptized!" - I was aware of this being a reality for me, once I publicly announced my devotion to God I would face hardships. It's been a year and I do feel that there had been a lot of change for me. I open my beliefs up for being questioned and try to research, talk with others and try to find answers.

So in short, being baptized was the first step to admitting I need God present and active in my life, which meant the stakes are up and things would get real and I uncomfortable. Personally I feel these are good things, because faith unexamined is not worth believing. Now the real work begins. I don't say this to scare you, only to give it some major thought. Being baptized is between you and God, but don't expect life to suddenly go your way when you do.

in the NT when persons were immersed by yochanan the immerser or by the disciples of yahshua(yahweh's salvation)(JESUS)

they were not doing it "JUST" between themselves and GOD.

they were being immersed into a whole new body, new life, new "LORD"/{MASTER,KING,"OWNER"(of all they were and all they had and all they ever hoped to be or to have) ....

all in all, into UNION WITH YAHWEH, in YAHSHUA, and with ONE ANOTHER, no longer strangers and foreigners,

and likewise YES, each other's "keeper" in a very real and personal and intimate and spiritual YAHSHUA'S BODY.

i.e. no one immersed in yahshua goes their own way, but HIS thereafter. as yahweh directs, as HIS WORD says.

the 'body life', even more 'resurrection life', is sadly lacking in the untied states, is rarely seen, taught, experienced, felt, done, practiced, realized, recognized, or lived.

because people (as recognized by the visitors from other 'third-world' countries, especially by believers),
are too greedy and selfish.
not just 'people' as in the general public,
but 'people' "in chruch" --- so-called 'believers'....
