What is the definition of slavery? I thought it means to force someone to work without paying them for their work. This goes on in the good old USA for 9 out of 12 months every year. I think you know what I'm talking about. I does get worse though. In some cases we even pay the system to treat them like slaves. Then at the end of it all the slaves get a nice little piece if paper that could possibly get them a minimum wage job. Not much of a reward for 13 years of hard work and obedience. Just my thoughts on a big problem. What do you think?

slavery is common in the usa, more common than it was one or two hundred years ago, or ever, for that matter.
note that GOD'S WORD NEVER forbids slavery. never even speaks against it, per se.
GOD simply tells slaves how to act and behave and live, and
GOD simply tells slave owners how to treat their slaves.
GOD even says slavery is necessary.
go figure why people are opposed to what GOD says in HIS WORD.

Well Jeff 56 looks like you know something I don't. I just want children to be played for the work they do. I think if we did that they would be more motivated to learn. If they stay in school because it is a paying job. There will be few dropouts. If they learn to make money and be responsible with it while their young they with be better adults. They would also be able to buy their own car at 16 and make a down payment on a new home at 18. If they go to collage they would be able to perhaps pay cash for a new home. This would put a lot of people to work and make life better for all of us. At least I think it would!!!
You need to be careful about saying God approves of slavery. The law of the Old Testament outlawed kidnapping.
Also God instituted a Jubilee to free the slaves every 49 years and God was angry with Israel when they set their slaves free then decided to re-enslave them.
Did people enslave themselves in Israel. Yes, they did. For economic reasons. It was never chattel race based slavery like happened against Africans.

Honest work should equal an honest wage.
I don't consider it slavery, but more of some people thinking they're mister big and don't have to play by the rules we have in this Nation. (USA) Thinking they can shaft people out of money just to save a quick buck.

Unfortunately those are the rules and they need to be changed. Good honist people get left behind while crooks make big bucks. That's why it's so hard for a wealthy person to get to heaven. Unless that wealth is faith in God's love, knowledge, understanding, and truth. This is the wealth we as Christians are to seek.

i agree about the slavery. most of the poor are born into a system they have no chance of elevating themself out of, yet we are told we can be anything we set our mind to which is a slap into the face of those of us that know the truth.

We're not even called associates now. They've gotten a lot bolder since then. It's going to get worse. We really do need to do something to make things better. The children in our country are growing up in bad situation. We need to do what we can to help them!!! That is why I started this chat room. Unfortunately no one seems to have any good ideas. Everyone seems to be clear about it being a problem and has complained.
Yep. So what can be done to change it? How do we fix this problem? My idea is to pay children for the work they do. School is work and they are forced to go. We are forced to send them or teach them ourselfs. That's as close to slavery as you can get here. They learn to be slaves to the wealthy. They are tought to be fools. Working without being payed makes you a fool. That is what is being tought to them by not paying them for their work.

i have no clue how to fix it. i have 2 young kids and i am going to arrange for them to go to school abroad, maybe south america or australia, someplace thats not bought and payed for by corrupt corporations. until then i want to encourage them to be free thinkers and ask their teachers questions most dont ask: if usa is not an empire then whats the deal with the possessions? why did income tax and the fed appear at the same time? why did political lobbying only show up after blacks, poor white folkes and women started voting, you know, things like that.
I recommend home schooling. Teach them the way Jesus was taught. At home and as much as they are able to learn. There are no good schools in the world today. At least not to my knowledge. Not here or abroad. You are their parent and a Christian. They can have no better teacher then you!!! There is no one in this world they want to please more then you. Sending them away is going to hurt them. If you can afford to have them taught at home do it.

when i said sent away i ment sending them to college when they are around 18, not now, and when they go i will be ready to move as well. i already teach them at home but they do go to public school during the day.
I'm sorry to learn they go to public school. No worse way to learn. The learning is slow. What they teach is by design wrong in every way. They teach children to be slaves. It's always been that way. It will stay that way if we don't do something to change it.
