What We call Jam in the UK, in America they call Jelly. What we call Jelly here in UK, they call it Jello.

We call it a peanutbutter and jam Sandwich, in america, they call it peanutbutter and jelly. So there Jam is Jelly, there jelly is jello. lol
 
I'm even more confused now than I was before I asked. Lol. I'm suppose to be on a diet!

OK I got what you mean by a biscuit and a scone.

What you call a bread is called a roll here. :)

The one in that picture that LOOKS like a cake we call that a piece of cake.

The one on the right covered in chocolate that look like this

That is called a chocolate eclair. Here they are filled with what we call a pudding (Not to be confused with a UK pudding)
There is also one that we have that is a cookie too. :)

The other ones in that picture I am not sure of.

The last picture can't see so....:(

Only one of those things is a biscuit. The biscotti on the lower right side. That's not American, British or Aussie/NZ. It's Italian. It's closer to a scone, which is neither a cookie nor a biscuit. lol
 
Hey folks maybe we need to invent new names for all this stuff - kind of like new speak in George Orwell's book 1984.

Um lets see

jello could be called : jelly

jelly could be called : thin

jam could be called : thick

small cakes, buns, pudding could be called : sweet

large cakes, chocolate cake etc could be called : how many calories!!

anything bread like : doh

anything biscuit like : flat

diets could be called : no weigh (way get it)

cars could be called : splat

flat tyres could just be called : annoying!

Want I love is Muscadine Jelly found in the states.

I haven't a clue what Truffle is sniffed out by hogs, and English delicacy.

Real truffles I have never tried, but they are regarded as a very expensive delicacy and a type of fungus, apparently with an earthy taste. Apparently you either love them or hate them. See the following web site

Now chocolate sweet truffles yum, they are confectionary/sweets/ buns often containing rum?
In fact any large round blob of chocolate is now often used with the word truffle.

Also what is a Twinkie, is that just a brand name for a bun, or is that a kind of bun in its own right?
