In all this year, thirty-eight U.S. law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty, including:
- Eight from gunfire, including both Brian and Greg Moore, and one from injuries suffered in an assault while trying to subdue a violent suspect
- Two officers thers have died during vehicle pursuits
- Two officers have been struck by vehicles while rendering aid or assistance at accident scenes
- A deputy chief of police for the NYPD and an ATF agent have died of 9/11 related illnesses as a result of being first responders that day
- Twelve have died when their patrol cars were involved in accidents while responding to 9-1-1 calls and one while operating a speed zone on his motorcycle
Why is it we glorify scumbags who cross the police and, mostly by their own stupidity, wind up dead, but we know nothing about the brave men and women who give their lives for their communities? The people who want to blame police officers for their troubles are just plain ignorant.
Look in a mirror, people. There's your problem!
