Like Philip with the eunuch
Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Which was the very scripture the eunuch was reading in Acts 8:32
Acts 8:34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee,
of whom speaketh the prophet this?
of himself,
or of some other man?
He just didnt know who the prophet Isaiah was speaking of
But as Jesus had said (of the law and the prophets)
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:
and they are they which testify of me. (1John 1:2)
And so we see...
Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Shows they preached Christ out of the prophets of old (which testified of what had come to pass in their own day)
And because they ask him earlier (not knowing it was him) this...
Luke 24:18... Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem,
and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
And they went on to recount what had occurred (with Jesus Christ)
And He reproves them in those things
Luke 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools,
and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Luke 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets,
he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
As is confirmed in Acts
Acts 3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
Even here this way
Acts 3:24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after,
as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
Their commission
Mark 16:16 And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, the voices of the prophets testify to Jesus Christ
Who says,
Mark 16:17 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And we see...
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where...
Same with how Philip was led to preach the same to eunuch
Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, (being led by the Spirit) saidm
Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. (who was reading the book of Isaiah)
Acts 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him,
and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
And Philip preached Jesus out of Isaiah
Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
And what Jesus said, even as he understood it, to be baptized
Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest (be baptized). And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (keep or discard) Mark 16:17
Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Acts 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
We at least know where he started reading, Isaiah (the testimony of Christ) faith come by hearing, he began at the scripture in Isaiah to preach Jesus (the eunuch believed) Philip must have mentioned being batized because the eunuch brought it up to him when he saw water, he believed was baptized and went on his way.
So we have Phillip showing Jesus Christ out of the prophets
And likewise in Apollos it shows
Acts 18:28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly,
shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
We see Paul expounding and testifying of the kingdom of God
Acst 28:23... persuading them concerning Jesus ,both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
Even as Jesus said,
John 5:39 ...The scriptures... and they are they which testify of me.
