P
Hi Prisca, I am so sorry to hear how you are feeling.
You use some key words that describe how I have felt in the past.
CONFUSED
TIRED
Life can be very difficult especially when our circumstances are less than ideal. In these difficult and trying times it is like looking at life as a an isolated gray-scale picture.
I often felt like giving up, I nearly did. I am sure that times like that will come again, but may I give you some advice?
Look at the promises of our loving God. He understands your pain, and he genuinely cares and has great compassion for you. He wants you to be happy long-term.
Even in your confusion and maybe mental-fatigue induced apathy, pray for the Lord to stay with you, pray that he gives you small mercies to help carry you through the day, tell him you feel like giving up and how you feel.
James 4:8 -- ''Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.''
1 Peter 5:7 -- ''Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.''
God will not let you down, you may not be delivered immediately from whatever situation or mind-set you are him, but in your weakness just fling yourself upon him and ask him daily, ceaselessly for help and strength. Rely on him.
God has a purpose for the tough times in our life, one of his intentions for these tribulations is to actually lead us to him and to rely on him. For he says to Paul: 2 Corinthians 12:9 ''But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.''
Suffering leads to more hope in our Lord:
Romans 3-5 -- ''Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.''
I pray you receive this encouragement well,
With Care and Compassion,
Matthew
