i was almost 5 when we moved east from Michigan.
the first time a friend offered a soda, i thought there would be ice cream involved!
LOL They don't call it pop in Wisconsin either it's soda here. (I had to learn the lingo even though I had only lived 80 miles away from Milwaukee) It is called pop in Illinois though. :)

And a water fountain is called a bubbler. :)

Okay, a brief rant.

Considering that anyone can start a new thread about (essentially) any topic, isn't interrupting threads to grind an ax about a particular theological view or to go after someone personally just a form of self-love?

You know, "I have an issue on my mind and I'm going to indiscriminately post it regardless of what is happening on this particular thread." Because it's all about ME ME ME.

Argh!
sorry Mary. :(

which of my posts and which thread? ;)
(juuust tryna lighten your mood, sis)

As long as you don't speak with forked tongue. Or God forbid, have one.
I know this isn't what we were talking about, but it reminded me of one of my instructors. He always walks around with a fork and spoon in his shirt pocket and someone asked him why he does that and he responded that he is always hoping food will show up right in front of him. He is a character

It has never , ever , ever impressed a single girlfriend.

.....but l'm a hit with my daughter. :)
Try it with a Southern or English accent. The girls loooove that stuff.

If it works, I'm adding a fork and spoon to the kitchen sink I already carry around in my purse.

Maybe I'll even condense it into just carrying a spork, in order to save space. (How else will I be able to fit in my Thermos...)

Well, I suppose you never met the right girl because the right one will find humor in impressions because you love making your daughter happy which is the most important thing

Did it! Caught up again just in time to find almost everyone had gone to bed.

Hubby got home with the new bedroom furniture, which was made in Vancouver, shipped to Calgary, and then he picked it up and drove it back to BC. The things we do to avoid this wretched 7% sales tax! (Round trip for the furniture of 17 hours, 14 hours for him)

Now I just have to fight him to get the junk drawers out of the room. He says he needs two dresser drawers. The man wears two t-shirts and 1 pair of pants and pyjama pants! Why is this just so wrong??

When I was growing up around Philadelphia in the 1970's, this was one of the biggest selling SODAS:

In western Canada, we refer to the sugar beverage as "pop." That's right "pop." Do you like cola or orange pop?

Got you all, I bet!

seoul was good, but if that's his best pickup line...
lol, the best line I could come up with would be something related to math.....

"√-1 <3 you" or "My love for you is like pi (never ending)"
Lets just stick with me being normal....:p
