Well I've been prompted to start this thread because I am often annoyed by things Atheists say and I often see such comments on facebook, in my workplace and just about everywhere else where we mix with those of little or no faith.

This latest one often crops up: "Christians are the worst, bigoted, small-minded and nasty. The nicest people I know do not have a faith."

Let me reply to this: NO! The Bible tells us there is no one good - not one. We are not bigoted or small-minded but simply pointing out what is right or wrong in God's eyes and we say it in love. If a Christian is being "nasty" he/she is not reflecting the love of Jesus but that is all part of man's imperfection."

Actually from my own point of view Christians are kind, loving and giving and this is what intrigued me and led me to want to know why Christians were different. It is why I "dipped my toes in the water" which ultimately led me to God. There are some amazing Christians on this site, brothers and sisters I have never met but love like my own family. I see their hearts and some appear to be VERY close to Jesus and this is reflected in their posts. No one is going to tell me that those of no faith are "the nicest people" it simply is not true.

Anyone else?

Hi,
I think the problem for non-believers is because there are many 'name-christians' who's life do not reflect the real faith.
We have a great responsibility in the matter. Lets spray for both sides.

Lol funny thread.
I find it annoying when they go on about Zeus or the great spaghetti monster. I just think, your parroting Richard Dawkins are you his disciple or something?

When it comes to debating Christians......almost everything they say towards us, is annoying.
They have a special hate for us.

Just as everyday people, with wordly opinions?...... they are no more "annoying" than the rest of us.

This "If you don't agree with what I say or behavior I engage in, or call it sinful, means you HATE me" is just a tactic atheists and other bullies like the LGBQTP crowd use to silence people. The true hatred comes from them. We actually love them, and would be beyond joyous if they would acknowledge the Truth of the Gospel and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

YES - they redefine "tolerance" to this - but tolerance is how I treat a person I disagree with

I'm tired of being told I have some type of "phobia" because I disagree with them on a moral issue. Object to gay marriage? I'm a homophobe. Et cetera...

I'm also a bit weary of being called "spiritual." Atheists or agnostics just want to say I'm spiritual, not that I'm a Christian (even though they KNOW I'm a Christian). I'm spiritual -- just like the Buddists or Hindus or Muslims -- we're all alike -- we're "spiritual!"
