It can be dumbfounding, what's going on in web forums, if you've lived most your life a mainstream Christian and have never seen the basics so foolishly shredded. Many here would simply be unbelievers, in a congregation of Bible believers. It's uncertain how much scripture people are even familiar with. False prophets are wholly condemned in the Bible, false teachers of a class of their own our Lord Jesus was stridently opposed to, had no perfumed or flowery language for: the Lord Jesus had no ecumenicism with the work of the devil or his workers. Through Paul, as it is all the Lord Jesus, lies are to be rebuked, sharply.
When somebody is pushing the same lies, hundreds of times, despite being shown the truth of scripture, trying to teach lies, this is not sin common to man: this is malicious, unrepentant deception. The false doctrines are doctrines of devils. We're too politically correct in our day and age to stand the whole truth, lest it appear we're not making nice: but teaching lies that can damn is not love, by any stretch of the imagination. Love is not a pretense. The Bible isn't namby pamby in these matters. I don't care how smiley that false prophet is in the pulpit: it's a snake, and it's a wolf, or somebody so blind and foolishly deluded that clear gospel truth won't open their eyes. Trouble is, I don't believe anybody is that stupid.
Every Christian I've ever known acknowledges truth in scripture, learns the obvious truths and the deeper ones, does not pervert truth. If you have the Holy Spirit, you have eyes that see, and ears that ear. If the things of God in scripture aren't registering, this requires some explanation, how the Holy Spirit is failing such a person? I've neither ever known a Christian who is not fully aware their ability to stand in the presence of Holy God is something less than zero, absent the covering blood of and righteousness of Christ, alone. The Holy Spirit drives anybody far from self-righteousness. As always, there are simply packs of dogs around here that don't hunt. It's incredible how the simple gospel is even argued against, to the point of daily foolishness on parade.
Tell you what, Dcontroversal, it's often very refreshing to see your no nonsense faith. Guess I don't like beating around the bush, either.
