I did back it up. rightly dividing the Word of truth, or could be translated handling is 2nd Timothy 2 15. something you should meditate on.

No, you didn't back it up. It was a baseless accusation that came off hateful. You actually have to point out what I said was wrong and then use Scripture (or at least allude to it) to give it substance. You really did not do that. Oh, and yes. I already believe and put into practice 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV. I say KJV because some Modern Translations eliminate the meaning of that verse to say something different.

Anyways, may God's love shine upon you today.

What I am trying to say is that a Christian is to let Christ shine in their lives. We are to deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow Him. We do not point to how great we art. We point to how great God is. When somebody stops despairing about their own life and focuses on Christ and what He wants there is no room for themselves (Neither for pride, wrong self love, and or having pity or despair over our lives). It becomes all about Jesus and what He wants. So when a person takes the focus of themselves and properly places on loving God and others, then God will give them the peace, love, and rest that they need.

Ok yeah you seriously need to STOP! Like RIGHT NOW! You have crossed a line where you are now hindering another's faith. You are this well read Christian who can quote Bible verses back and forth but you are forgetting love. You do not know what some of these people are going through and to just be like "Oh it's so simple!" You have NO CLUE what you are talking about. If Jesus delivered you from a living hell on Earth great! Wonderful but he hasn't done that for everyone. Some of us are still in that living hell on earth and wondering what to do until Jesus does come and magically makes everything better so you need to stop. God knows us, he knows our heart, he knows mine and he knows yours. So stop acting like everything is cut and dry because it's not. 7 billion people in this world 7 billion unique circumstances that you know NOTHING about. only God does. He is judge and jury. Not you.

Seriously?? Wow you do not sugarcoat it do you? Have you ever thought that these people are in unimaginable hurt? Maybe they are reading this right now and are translating your words like this:

"I'm a failure of a Christian because I don't have enough faith."

Is that really what you are trying to say?

Yes, that is what I am saying. When a person is really hurt and they are beating themselves up it is because they are not seeking God's will (According to His Word) but they are seeking their own will. They are despairing over their own life when they should be seeking to be suffering for Christ's sake. When a person takes the focus off themselves and focuses on God, there is no room for pride or despair. It all becomes about God and letting His light shine thru them. For there is none good but God. God is the source of all that is good and loving. So why not focus on Him instead ourselves?

Sorry to be harsh but there are some things that you just don't say. You don't tell someone who is on the ledge about to jump off a building, "you're a sinner. You need to pray more. If you jump you'll go to hell." That's an extreme example but please get the picture. there is a time for love. There is a time for correction. It takes wisdom to know the difference.

no, because people like Jason and others do not care about PEOPLE. it's all theory and legalism, and other ism's, but caring about and helping hurting people, nah. they would rather beat them up with the Bible instead of considering and doing what love your neighbor as yourself means.

Well then you need to go and buy a new Bible. You seem to have a lot of logs in your eyes. Gonna be blunt: You need to learn how to love and how to understand. You need to learn when to correct and when to love. You don't know a person's heart or their circumstance. So who are you to say who has faith and who doesn't? That's Gods job. I believe your job is to look at yourself with sober judgement and to love others. I also believe that there are multiple verses on NOT judging others because YOU are not a perfect judge. God is.

I can't believe you wrote this

That's very unfortunate not only for them but for people who are hurting and for unbelievers. :'(

If a person was thinking of doing that, I would ask if they believed in God and if they accepted Jesus as their Savior. If they said they had accepted Christ as their Savior, I would say something like:

I know the pain you are feeling, God knows the pain you are feeling, but whatever the problems you are going thru, God can heal them and cover them if you call out to Him one more time. If there is any wrong that you might have done, you can confess it now and God can heal you because He loves you and He wants to make all things new in your life. Jesus loves you. He wants to fix your life and mend your broken heart. He wants to take away your despair and give you joy. Would you like to have the love of Jesus and His joy at this moment? Would you pray with me right now?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah that wouldn't help!

Youre right. Jason doesn't have a clue. He's too busy being a banging his gong.

I have talked with people who were in despair before and yes, it has helped.

*eye roll* I can not tell you how many times I heard that speech in my own life. They tell you God loves you blah blah blah, pray for you blah blah blah feel better then when things get bad again and I need support they're gone and I'm alone again and things are back to the way they were. Or when I need to talk about deeper hurts and pain that just bounces right off. It gets to the point where you get tired of arguing and you just smile and nod to get them to shut up then you walk away to lick your wounds.

I have no idea of what you are referring to if you do not give me more details about the person and the trouble that they are having. Nowhere does the Bible ever say we are to uplift ourselves. Yes, God loves us and we are to protect our souls and love others and God. We do have value in God's eyes, but it is for His purposes and not our own purpose. God has a wonderful new life for everyone if they want to take it. Judas killed himself over the fact that he betrayed the Lord. Judas had the wrong kind of sorrow. He had a worldly sorrow. But it was not a Godly sorrow. Judas did not repent of his sins before he died. Judas did not seek God's will but his own will all the way up until the end.

So you did not pray to God in times of despair so as to receve His love, peace, and joy with another believer to help comfort you?

What exactly were you in despair about? Was it something that is "ME" focused or was it "GOD" focused? Usually we are troubled like this because we need to throw ourselves down before God and surrender our life more to Him and what He wants instead of what we want. The despair comes because we are acting selfishly and having pity on our life. We have to give to God and focus on loving Him and others. That is what this life is about.
