No I started the OP to help people. A lot of people on here got that. We are soooo off track from the OP it's not even funny

You said at the end of your OP, I like how I am smart. You started a trend of people pointing to themselves and how great they were. Jesus said there is none good but God. It is God we are to glorify and point to and not ourselves.

I like that I am smart
I like that I am good at art
I like that I love surfing n the smell of the ocean
I like I can feel the breeze n know I'm OK
I like that I know when to be selfish and focus just on me so that I can survive
I might not like everything about me or everything going on with me - but I do like these things

I thought you were perfect, sinless, righteous and good!

Romans 12:16 HCSB
Do not be proud;
instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Romans 12:16 ESVUK
Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.Never be wise in your own sight.

Philippians 2:21
For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

The saints are continually made righteous by Jesus Christ doing the good work in them. It is not of their own doing. Jesus deserves all the glory, honor, and power for any good that He does in a believer's life.

Jason you can throw every bible passage you want at me. I have enough to focus on without you doing your best to make me feel less of a person in yours n Gods view. I don't think u speak for God actually. I think you speak from a slant that for some people is not only hurtful, its spiteful. I got upset with you before but I now realise you just don't have the skill-set to be making comments on this thread. So I'm going to put the focus back on myself for a while and your comments suggesting some sort of spiritual immorality on my part is going to disappear into a blaze of my art.

Avoid threads that need a heart... I repeat avoid threads that need a tender heart!

Jason God gives us these talents. When a Christian says "I like that I smart" they're basically saying I like that I can use my knowledge to the best of my ability to glorify God. I would like to hope things like these could be interpreted, and we don't actually have to say what we mean every single time. God gave all of us different talents and interests. I like how I have a strong love for dogs. But wait... Is that taking away from God? No. Why is that? Because God is the one that gave me a passions for dogs, and I can use that passion to work in a dog care facility if God wants me to. If He doesn't, I can always just have my own dog for a pet. Again why is that? Because God let's us to. An artist gets to show her skills in paintings and drawings. Skills that got her a full ride scholarship to college. Who was behind that? God. There is nothing wrong with liking something that is good about us. Because God is the one that makes us good. And any right Christian would be praising Him for any good thing that would happen to him and her. We don't need to spell out what we're saying in this regard, because God knows what we mean and what we think 24/7.

True peace, love, and purpose comes in serving Jesus according to His Word. If you disagree with the verses above, then why not discuss them? Are we not on a thread within the Bible discussion section?

Actually the saints are saved, justified and sanctified (positionally) and sealed for eternity in Christ as the righteousness of GOD is applied unto the believer at the moment of belief.....Our life is HID WITHIN CHRIST....

Our daily lives and sanctification in our daily lives is an ever, ongoing process with successes and failures......

Jason, you are hurting a 14 year old girl. She is vulnerable and sensitive. You need to stop. Focus on me if you have to blab to someone. Just don't blab to her.

While there is nothing wrong with a person having intelligence and in having an art skill, nowhere does the Bible teach that we are to look to ourselves and how good we are. Yes, we can be thankful for these things to God but we should never boast about how great we are. That is how the OP started and the trend did catch on (With approval). To look to yourself and how good you are means that you can do it all without God. What need do you have for God's wisdom and knowledge when you got your own? What need do you have for inspiration when you can get in art versus the Word of God and His good ways? What need is there for letting God perfect you in love when you think you are already great or perfect in loving others? When we start to think how great we art, instead of how Great God is, the focus is in the wrong place.

*ugh* You are taking this to the extreme

And no one is disputing that. The Bible says to give Him thanks in all things. That doesn't mean we have to start throwing verses out and condemning people when someone says ",Wow I got an A on a test. I liked the fact I studied really hard for this, and the hard work paid off." I went to visit my aunt yesterday and she gave me a dollar to get a drink from the vending machine at her work. I liked the fact I had a nice cold bottle of water after working in the sun for 6 hours. Is that taking away from God because the person is happy the studying paid off and because I liked the fact my aunt gave me a dollar for a bottle water?
