Heres a few on lusts and denying them or living after them if they would be helpful
Jesus said,
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you,
That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her
hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Look on to lust after her
Whosever look on a woman to lust after her
Sin is not to be obeyed in the lusts thereof
Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body,
that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Gal 5:16 This I say then,
Walk in the Spirit,
and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
There are many lusts, a man should know his own
James 1:14 But every man is tempted,
when he is drawn away of his own lust,
and enticed.
You dont want to make provision for the flesh in these things
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
The grace of God that bringeth salvation teaches us the same
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Obedient to the same grace
1 Peter 1:15 As obedient children,
not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
Even as grace is for the obedience of the faith
There were those who thought they walked according to the flesh in 2 Cr 10:2 and Paul adresses this everywhere though, that its not true.
Ephes 4:20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
Ephes 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him,
and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Ephes 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man,
which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh
with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit,
let us also walk in the Spirit.
As he stated earlier...
Gal 5:16 This I say then,
Walk in the Spirit,
and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
He says you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh,
which is not obeying sin in the lusts thereof (Romans 6:12)
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you:
for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Thats grace and what it teaches us, grace teaches us that we are to be denying worldly and ungodly lusts, and those who would live godly in Christ would be persecuted.
In James 1 :15 he shows when lust has concieving (in relation to bringing forth sin and commiting the same) and so taking it at the lusts thereof (which come of sin) bringing the same under us before the same conceive. But even these are brought under us through the Spirit as we mortify the deeds of the body.
Fulfilling the desires
Ephes 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Ephes 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
And so by grace we have been saved by him who quickened us who were dead in our sins and walking in our times past in the lusts of our flesh fulfilling these desires.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh,
and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,
is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 2:17
And the world passeth away,and the lust thereof:
but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
2 Peter 1:1Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Peter 1:2Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
