I've signed up for an online dating site for Christians, but it doesn't seem to bring decent matches. It's so frustrating. Are there so few christian women out there? It's not hard to find a partner these days who is agnostic or atheist (don't want to go down that road again) but I'm looking for something more. I'm looking for my "spiritual match". Someone with similar believes and values. But so far I've come up short.

My my question is has anyone found a decent dating site for us? Or a good singles chatroom or forum for christians.

It might be good for us to share what we find, after all we need to stick together ;-)

eharmony. It's not quick, but it's where I found the matches that turned into relationships (except for the jerkwad from Christian Mingle. DON'T do Christian Mingle.)

Match was okay. It's where my sister found her husband, but they aren't particularly religious. But TWICE my account was auto renewed, even though I turned that function off. They paid back the first one "as a courtesy," but I had to get the BBB and my bank involved to get the last one refunded.

Do watch this funny video, though. :)

Nope.

Some have found love here at Christian Chat. But it's not a dating site. Get to know the community and see what happens. As the Spirit leads.

Portrait to landscape? DYING. *hahahahaha*

I met quite a few women friends in the chat portion of Christian Mingle, but it seemed weird to be paying for friendship, so I let my account expire. The problem I run into on dating sites is that I live fairly remotely, so there isn't a ton of opportunity locally. I'd like to think that if I lived in a larger place, I would have more opportunity, and I probably wouldn't do a dating site then.

I am really thankful for CC though, I just really need more fellowship than anything right now.

Just go on any dating site and say youre looking for a strong christian. Not sure why you would need to find a solely christian one to do this one.

just sign up for any dating site, plenty of fish or whatever one you want, don't bother with a picture since that's all anyone judges you on, and finally proclaim somewhere in your post that you are looking for someone who loves God as much as you do.

You will be well ignored by the community as a whole.

short answer, no.

well Christian tingle sounds great. Maybe I'll give it a try, but I couldn't get the advantages of the app since I don't have a smart phone.

I think the big challenge and difficulty with dating sites in general is that it turns what should be a primarily relational activity into a commercial / consumer activity. I think part of the reason I've never been on a dating site is because making one of those profiles would feel way too much like applying for the job of being somebody's (well really anybody's) date / spouse. Some people find ways to make the system work for them, but I think certain types of people aren't interested in that kind of system. Then again, give me another 5 years and I might change my mind. Then again I might not.

Good gravy! I think a friend signed me up for eHarmony. I've been getting emails for quite some time now, but I've never signed up with them! I don't know the password either so I can't remove myself from their mailing list. So awks.

LOL! Was it Tiffany? I could imagine her doing that. I can't imagine Rachel or Louise doing it though, something tells me they may want you for themselves!

Tiffany? Oh, that's possible! Rachel or Louise? I doubt it. That's a bit cheeky. :p I don't know what's going on. I may have to do some detective work.

Arlene, I just checked my emails all the way back to the beginning. I've been getting eHarmony emails since 2012, when I was teaching in Victoria. I've known Tiffany and Louise since 2013 and Rachel only since very early 2015, so it can't be any of those three. This is odd. Very odd. The porridge thickens...

Well you can probably create a filter on your e-mail program to auto delete anything from eharmony or send it to spam / junk mail. Only problem with that is if they find the girl of your dreams for you, you might miss her and never know it :p Of course there is probably some way to reset your password on eharmony as well, should you actually want to meet the hypothetical girl they find for you.

The fee for my advice is one bowl of that thickened porridge by the way, with lots of cinnamon and some raisins (which I think they may have another name for down under but I forget what it is).

Thanks, Cinder. Unfortunately I don't know even the basics of programming languages to be able to create a filter for my Yahoo Mail. That's more my brother's area of expertise. Thanks for the laughs. :) Yes, we have raisins here, but we also have sultanas and currants. Good choice. One bowl of steaming, thickened porridge with the lot coming up!
