There is a theory that Santa Claus is actually an alias for Satan. The theory is based primarily on the fact that "Santa" could be an anagram for "Satan."

This theory is a popular belief among many Christian communities.
Other evidence is the fact that Saint Nicholas, the origin of Santa, could have never existed. Ole Nick was a fallen Angel. Nick is a common nickname for Santa. (e.g. Old Saint Nicholaus) Old Nick is a British term for "the devil". Nicholas is one of the most common names for the devil, for Germans.

Many Christians are infuriated with the fact that Santa shares, or in some cases takes the spotlight from Jesus at Christmas time.

Santa can be rearranged to spell Satan. Claus is old English for "Hoof-Claws." Claus can be rearranged to spell "Lucas" which resembles Lucifer

Actually Santa is much more like a type of God/Christ:

1. Santa is clothed in red - Christ shed His blood
2. Santa come out of the north - God is said to come down from the North
3. Santa freely gives - Christ gave Himself and continues to give
4. Santa rides in air with sled - God rides in the clouds
5. Santa has elves as workers - Christ has Christians as workers

All that said, it still abhors me that Santa gets all or more of the attention. However, you can use Santa as a springboard to present Christ to unbelievers when witnessing for Christ .

I usually play with words (but just for fun myself) and I suppose you could. You could play with visual representations also. The figure is represented as a man in red (even as the dragon/ satan is noted as being red). And his coming (which is often looked forward to (with great anticipation) instilled in children to guide their eyes towards the love of the things of this world. Bunches of stuff (under a tree) usually topped with an angel of light. The figure?

Killing people in stores while running them over for sales on the blackest of fridays which encourage the mob mentality, and various other things

I am not entirely sure if Santa is a symbol of Satan. There is a theory that he is associated with Odin, from Norse Mythology. I think that he is rather a symbol of giving during the holiday season. But it is possible that Santa is something the devil uses to try to get people's minds away from the true purpose of the holiday (the birth of Jesus Christ).

This is all just silly religious conspiracy nonsense. Santa Claus is just a run-on version for Saint Nicholas!

Anything that is not of the Truth, is a lie.....which will you teach your children? :)

Revelation 22:15
For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Yeah and you know what? That could even fit with graven images of gods also, sometimes a thing is a lie (in your hand)

Isaiah 44:20 He feedeth on ashes:
a deceived heart
hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

Either way, its loving and making a lie and the same can be shown there

Psalm 40:4
Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust,
and respecteth not the proud,
nor such as turn aside to lies.

Phil 4:8
Finally, brethren , whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things
are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Yeah, you can dress up a lie in a cute bunny suit and fuzzy slippers, but it's still a dressed up lie. :)

I kind of expected this kind of thread a little more towards december but yes you can spell satan from santa and true santa has taken over the meaning of Christmas for most ppl other than Christians not to mention that satan can come as an angel of light meaning pretending to be good but isn't. But then again you have book ends insightful view plus the fact he doesn't promote any doctrines of the devil santa promotes joy kindness free giving laughter and love, that sounds familiar to someone we all know

For goodness sakes its Santa Claus...not Jeffrey Dahmer at Christmas!

Yes I know Jesus is the reason for the season.
But unfortunate if our children go to school at age 5...and claim " My mommy says Santa Claus is satan!"

Your child is going to come home alot black eyed and tormented in class...plus the verbal abuse calls from fellow mothers who have to call you and ask "How dare ur child break my Bobbys heart...and claim in class Santa is a devil."

Think of our children...teach them that Jesus is the reason....yet Santa represents the giving of gifts the wisemen gave to birth of Jesus

Thats what I did....and the turnout was fine. No hassle from parents...yet Jesus still ruled my daughters Christmas :)

I'm sorry I sort of chuckled at this. I don't know if it is (I seriously doubt it) but isn't Santa based on the actual Saint Nicholas that used to give gifts to children? All that myth stuff after is bunk but it's based on someone's genuine kindness right?

Okay Jeff....so what if mom named me Tanas?

A name is a name

I do not agree lying to our children...no I dont. God knows how the world is....it crap!

But believe me unless you private home school your child

All the rest of our public schooled children are going to be abused...if we send them to school claiming Santa is satan.

Jesus know what parents go thru in this world.
My first priority is protecting my child...and Jesus knows the struggle in an unholy world

Jesus forgives me...because he reads my mind...and knows my true intentions
