dumb question here but on a serious note is sarcasm a sin? I can't imagine Jesus being sarcastic but does that make it a sin?

Blain, in sll seriousness, I think it's all good until wecome to God's word. And depends on who you'er joking around with. There's a place and time. IMO

Silence! The Sirk has spoken on the matter. Do you speak evil of The Sirk?

That is sort of why I made this thread. So people could just be raw and have fun with sarcasm. My view is that God made us with all of our personality quirks and loves us just the same. The bible says there is a time for everything....a time to laugh, a time to cry etc. We have a lot of freedom in Christ.

--I don't think it's a dumb question. Sarcasm could be seen as passive agressive behaviour--- which would be a hidden hostility and when the person is called out, they act all surprised as they didn't say anything that another could be offended by.

Well thank you. I feel very understood by you. That is the best gift you could give me.

Yes i agree, if someone's motive is to hurt. But if it's all in fun and you truly are just in it for laughs, sarcasm is fun. You don't think Christ sat around joking with the disciples? I disagree. Through many experiences in my life I will have to say i believe God has a sense of humor.

if joking around didn't come from God then who did it come from? I highly doubt satan is the type to kid around

I know God has a sense of humor. He created me. :D

Having fun is how relationships are built. My kids wouldn't wanna have anything to do with me if I was heavy all the time and how can you teach someone who wants nothing to do with you?

I didn't say that I believed Jesus didn't have times of levity and laughter. I agree with you. I just think that sarcasm is an often used form of passive agressive behaviour by people who don't even realize it sometimes. And I believe also that you have to be careful with sarcasm, because not all people understand it.

Silence! Only The Sirk is equipped to make commentary on the usefulness of sarcasm!

Motivate is the kicker....that's why psalm 19:14 is important.
If it's beung thrown at you and you're not ready or just not in a place to hear it..,then the verse....great peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them..or walk away
