By the way, we are probably all a bit insane. The only sane human being ever to walk the earth was Jesus.

But to most earth based individuals he was nuts, believing he would rise from the dead, that 12 men would help change the world, that wondering around a barren and difficult country for 3 years would bring a message that would speak 2000 years later to a small group of people talking across the world on the internet. Who would have thought?

Bigot! You're a bigot! I went over and read thru last nights musings on another thread where there are a few homospirituals hanging out and my word....talk about coo coo for cocoa puffs.
Sometimes I force myself to watch CNN to see what they're up to. Same thing here.

On another note, Cocoa Puffs are good, but Cap'n Crunch Rules!!! ;)

You lost me on this one. Please elaborate.
I use "you" tooooo many times. I have read on threads one person saying to another "You do not even believe Jesus is God ..."

If one starts to simply take peoples theology apart, one will find most of us have variations on what the incarnation meant.
Language does that to one, when one say a particular point, it is a summary which actually means different things to each reader.

One guy argued God, the trinity was present with every part of the Godhead. Another that God was truly just a man, though with an essential nature of God, another he was fully God as a man like a vessel. The problem is these are often words to describe thoughts, or language, which people may or may not hold to.

One guy suggested you could not be saved until you accepted the concept of the trinity.

What I am trying to get at, this forum is a way of exploring other peoples ideas, but that is all they are. Some will be spiritually wrong, up the creek, some nuts, some with very difficult backgrounds, but it is a good place to neutrally hear what is being said.

Some ideas like the little gods heresy is more spread than you might imagine, by people who I would suggest are not actually christian any more. Until we gain the tools of engagement, we can be very ignorant to the real battle that is raging in the church and the world.

I have found engagement changed the legitimacy of various positions held in the muslim community, which is critical to changing peoples understanding at a life, justice and social level, and not to become hijacked by the extreme right in politics, which is a dangerous road to walk down. Some parts of the "christian" church are just as dangerous if given the right agenda.

Peter, you had me until your last sentence, "highjacked by the extreme right in politics." In case you haven't noticed, its the extreme left that's screwing everything up in politics and with our faith.

There is only one Truth. Our thoughts, opinions and even hopes don't change the Truth. Jesus is God, or He is not. I thank God on bended-knee that our ignorance does not, and can not, change His loving, glorious, eternal Truthfulness. And that Truth, is that Jesus is God!

On a side note about strange people and history, I saw the film "The imitation game" about Alan Turing and the Enigma code.

He was a homosexual who had lived a very isolated and bullied life. But this one man changed the outcome of the 2nd world war. In part it is seeing the value in people, despite their circumstances and encouraging their ability to contribute.

For me the saddest part is though he had such a profound effect and saved many thousands of peoples lives, he was never rewarded or set up for life, with funding and a team. He died a depressed lonely man, outcast and not understood.

Now with his asbergers syndrome issues, maybe things could not realistically have been different, but God uses the strangest people to do extraordinary things, so we should be careful how we judge or value.

I personally am not pro-gay rights, or against the establishment, but I am deeply moved that we too often write people off who matter, and then not see the Lord using things for His glory.

Well, we can start by not referring to them as "they." (That just tends to exacerbate the separation.) Then just love "them."

"Them vs. Us" is a sad game to get caught up in.

Well....they are welcome here. This is a non discriminatory thread where even homospirituals are welcome to come and be by themselves, set apart...and loved by Jesus more than everyone else.

I do not like politics, but there are no simple answers and polarisation always fails.
God is both the dictator and perfect supporter of needs. His dictations is in setting the standards, but also supplying the means to meet them.

The Truth. The truth does not change, but how we understand it does. How do children learn in school, from simple to complex, from approximations to more complex insight.

Jesus is God. Amen. But I know christians who seem to believe this yet are happy with things that theologically deny this idea. So that is where I try and live in grace. That is all I am trying to encourage.

Once I finally met Jesus (about 30 years after I was baptized as a "Christian."), I had to start unlearning all the "complex" additions and distortions we make... in order to begin to hear the ultimate simplicity of the message Jesus speaks.

I do not doubt what you are saying, but what made you feel you had not met Jesus before but now have?

I put this in context, because in my walk with the Lord, I have found great joy is seeing His life in the most unusual situations, so I have not had this exclusive experience, but rather a changing from one point to grace to another, so it interests me you seem to be testifying to a significant break with your past.

Unfortunately, there is an us and them, which scripture speaks of, wheat and tares, false prophets, devils as angels of light. Would agree it's sad to get caught up in, very much, anyway, but it's an ugly reality. People should be careful, and lies should be refuted. There are those who are seriously perverting truth here, though, when it comes to all the repetition, it would be better not to engage it, as there are a few here who are just trolling. As long as there are people to bicker the same, worn bicker with, they will be here, as long they are being fed.

This is something about these forums that cause me to often read little, the simplicity of the gospel, and its beauty, lost. I used to like to listen to a minister on the radio, and, after him, came R.C. Sproul. I'd leave the radio on and listen to him sometimes, and that man could make a muck of "Jesus wept", with his having to account for every corrupt philosophy or related theory in the history of perversion, a steamroller of confusion, and coming to some bad conclusions, actually adopting an error.

You get these posts, a couple screenfuls or more, where it's one verse, then a long paragraph of man's reasoning and corruptions, the meaning lost, perverted. It's most always somebody trying to stuff their false religion, with its false doctrines, into the meaning of the verse. You just don't need all that blather over verses making clear statements, of the basic gospel. Much of what is disputed here of the Bible stands alone in its truth and simplicity. Think about it. You can't add that many words to many verses and remain true, because one's adding things that aren't there, from there own imaginings, in turn taking away the true meaning. If the Bible needed all those additional words, they would be there.

Agree with you very much there's evidence many need to unlearn, a lot, and just let the word of God speak. Maybe the Bible usually means just what it says? It's in the simple, unmolested truth that you find peaceful Bible harmony you won't find in a bickering forum of confusion. It's only unnecessary confusion, and because people have their own agendas and misunderstandings they have to inject into God's word.

i think you hit on something very important in that Jesus himself told us we must "be like little children". All of this high minded confusion and obfuscation that the homospirituals on this site engage in, concerning very simple biblical concepts, make Christianity into a religion that's exclusive to them, when the reality is....that it is a simple, childlike faith that....Jesus has us covered, and that we serve Him out of gratitude and love....not as a list of things on a list to check off.

these people who claim to be without sin wouldn't last 5 minutes in my house without committing some major sin. Lol.... My experience in life makes me laugh at this perfection they supposedly possess. The only answer to someone who claims to be able to do everything perfectly is that they are living in lala land all by themselves with nobody to expose their rough edges.

Got me thinking.
How about the point of a "rep" here?

We search and read, looking for someone who posted something that WE would say, or scripture we would use.
That's not giving someone a pat on the back.......thats simply, ...."Very cool, l'm trying to find other people who think exactly like ME!!!, soooo, here's some rep for being like me."

Most Rep is not given to those who have a good reputation here, it based upon ego driven- treasure hunting.

Really, lala land. Having spent many years, involving intense study, it came to where there is a beautiful and peaceful harmony to the word of God, truths very unified, the Bible meaning just what it says. If you come here and start reading a lot, that peace and unity is shredded into confusion. It's as if some are trying to undo scripture truth, just unsettling garbage, disrupting of truth and not worth reading. As I've said before, if I want fiction, I'll read some much better writers, who aren't making pretenses of having truth.

They don't come to a thread like this where the rules aren't to their liking. Where they can't place a stake in the moral high ground without getting called out on it. Their posts have no eternal value because they are just incestuous circles of closed thinking confusion.

So...we can ignore them and they will have maybe one or two get sucked like they normally do until the threads like that just die...or we can feed them and they'll continue to post their pages and pages of nonsense into perpetuity.
